I know this question is redundant, but anything to get away from the day-to-day droll.

For those of you who are gay, do you show your pride at all? I want to show mine but be discreet about it. Not because I'm afraid of what people will think, but more afraid of the ignorant people. I just want to show it subtly in a way that other gay people would catch on...any ideas?

My problem is that I'm a straight guy, but I talk like I'm gay. I have friends who are gay, and I have no problem with gay people, and I think they rock, but I don't like constantly being asked if I am gay because of the way I talk. It isn't blatent, but there are the underlying subtones and the little nuances and accents that just make me sound that way... I would like to fix this.

Are any of you lesbians by choice?
My last Q seems to have drawn some one or two knee-jerk reactions. I posed the question twice, which some people completely ignored.... Are some by choice? Are you by choice, a lesbian? Or you can NOT help it? That's all I wanted to know. Let me clarify... Yes, I've been in an all female college and I observed plenty! I like the way they look-masculine, and yes, some don't look masculine and they were paired up! I DO realize those generalizations, but You have to start with generalizations to create theories! What my aim was to test that hypothesis, but in no way did I expect a bludgeon hurling at me! Can I ask a question without being told I'm an idiot? I am merely info-seeking, not JUDGMENTAL! If you can't rationally read a question and think of a more reasoned reply, please don't reply!--Because I was in a study-mode, not a judgmental mode! Sorry truly to those kindhearted people out there I may have accidentally offended... :(

...then that must mean that being straight is a choice too, right? I'm heterosexual and I don't remember ever saying "hey, I think I'll be straight."

Any "anti-gays" willing to explain this? Is being gay really a choice? Come on, bible-thumpers, here's your chance to get your holy little hands on an extra ten points. I know that you gay bashers love to browse this section all the time, so this question is perfect for the selected section.

If I can't get an answer to justify why being gay is choice, then at least post something. Bored as hell here...

I dont have problems meeting women. Infact Ive had a couple girlfriends, and yes a lot of opportunity to have sex. The problem is I havent taken them. Ive been brought up catholic, and think premartial sex is dirty, and subconsciously define the act of "sex" as with exclusive between a man and a woman. I bring this up because I dont have problems getting oral sex from men. For me, Im just having fun and not participating in it.. (SAD, and Illogical, but thats how I think of it) Also, with the STDs these days, its almost a life and death situation who youd sleep with. Believe me I tried hard to fix my way of thinking but its hard to go against your grain. So im wondering if all this mental inhibitions in my mind would turn me gay soon. What do you think? I dont mean any offense to any gay person. Im just asking for advice. thanks!

Lesbian: greater chance of finding love?
I mean no offense and I really am interested in lesbianism as a study and to understand my motives for being interested. My motive for asking this question is: when I observe lesbians, they aren't usually the most physically attractive... Do you think that being lesbian could POSSIBLY be a CHoice? What I mean is, are some lesbians...lesbians because they are rejected by men? My speculation is that lesbians are androgynous in general, which means... they are neither very feminine or very masculine. They are actually and surprisingly versatile and both. I think the average lesbian could possibly be more intellectually inclined than heterosexual average female. And because if the closet lesbian is presented to the general male population, since she is androgynous, will NOT be generally appealing over average very feminine women. What do you all think of all this? Anything you find you agree? Please, my only aim is to understand IF there possibly

Ok...there seems to be this problem at my current school...yeah...discrimination....wait, lemme explain! Anyways, it's like this....there is a series of categories in my school...(rockers, gangsters, emos, goths, and "normies" or regulars.) I'm in the rocker/emo section, or as others categorize me. People treat ''us" wrong, and by people, I mean gangsters and regulars, which are not rockers, emos, or goths. I'm just saying, it's not fair...is there any cases like that in your community? Just because we LOVE rock an' metal and not rap does not mean we must be treated differently. By we, I mean the rockers, emos, or goths.

So I have been dating this guy for 7 months now...at first he was very into me and I was kinda just going along with the flow not completely sure about where the relationship was going, but recently I have found myself becomming more and more in love with him. We have already told each other that we love one another, but it seems as if his love for me has kind of cooled down a bit. He isn't eager to tell me about his day, or tell me the sweet things that he used to tell me. We do spend lots of time with one another, almost every day, and I feel that he might have started to feel smothered, or bored with this relationship. I ask him if he is happy with this relationship and he says yes...he also doesn't feel like any thing is wrong, except for the fact that I bring this subject up too often and has gotten annoyed with it. This hurts me but I dont want to leave him or for him to leave me. Is time apart good in this situation? What can we do to get through this "rough patch"?

Ok, so I am considering being lesbian as a way to belong. I don't mean to make this a socio-political issue that stirs people up (so please don't make it). It's just a personal expression and I feel somewhat vulnerable being so open... When I was young and foolish, I dated white guys, to see how I fit in the culture. But I know at least where I am, white people are the majority and the old class haven't fully opened to asians. Asian opinion prompts "Well, if you're don't agree, go back to your country" sort of replies. So, can't have an opinion openly w/o being put in my place as a foreigner I feel like a loner in a majority world. I am struggling to find belonging in this society. I don't want to be further marginalized by being lesbian, but I know I can find community within the smaller culture of lesbians. I want empowerment as a woman, not asian! I want people to see me for who I AM, not see my face! Ok, I am not depressed. I am fine. But at times, I feel down about it all
