this is just my personal opinion :
i think pride is much more than just wearing anything, joining or being active in organizations. i think real pride is in the heart. knowing that you are gay and not ashamed of it. knowing that like any other person, you too can contribute positively to your community or to your country.
showing that you are not ashamed of your sexual orientation is different from flaunting it. if you are still afraid of what other people think, then you are not proud at all. it doesnt matter what you wear. you have to correct that first - to be able to stand with ur head up high and just be yourself!

I show my pride by using my little ford Escort as a Mobile Library. It's behind has a great deal of pride and peace related bumper stickers plus a few rainbows. Okay, she's also painted (using tractor paint) in huge lovely flowers. I just happen to like flowers.

I have never thought of showing pride. This is how I would answer you. I have never been ashamed of being lesbian, though I have never paraded the fact. I supported my darling when confronted by her hateful family. After her death which occurred while I was away, they had her buried under a stone with "UNKNOWN TO GOD". I fought them to have the dreadful slur removed but failed . She lives in my heart and prompts me to support all those of us who are in difficult circumstances.
Finally, I try to do the best I can at whatever task so that no low creature will ever repeat the words "Lesbian? No your less than nothing" *
Bless us all. Rose P.

A way to show your pride and be discreet is the wear a pride necklace. That way when you are in a place where you need to be discreet you can tuck it in your shirt.

some weeks in the past in my English classification, we had to write down a persuasive essay on some thing we needed, and my topic develop into why people might want to offer up utilising gay slurs, calling some thing gay, and so on. when I did my presentation for the classification, I informed all of them the undesirable issues, like the murders and suicides, yet then, i ended and stated "i understand how this feels because I extremely have a girlfriend." that's how I confirmed my delight. playstation . I were given an A+ :]

I have a rainbow keychain and I wear a white puka shell necklace with a cluster of colored shells painted the colors of the GLBT rainbow. I never take it off. That's how I do it. I've never been insulted or attacked because of it.

JR -
Why not join your local GBLT community group? They usually have social events, lectures, and benefits you might want to partake in. It gives you the flexibility to go to events of your choice.
It's a nice way to meet the locals and have a good time too. Keeps your pride at a level your comfortable with.

I have a leather pride license plate on my jeep.
Very funny story ............ I was pumping gas one day and this guy next to me started preaching at me about what a horrible person I was and how i was going to hell, I thought he was possessed. So I ask him dude whats your problem...... he points to the pride plate and says your gay!!!!!
I laughed so hard I almost peed myself, and told him dude if your going to be a bigot find out what your bigoted about....... I am not gay I am bi sexual the pride plate is because I involved in BDSM.
Ya know leather, whips, cuffs and chains? If your going to tell me I am going to hell, make sure it is for the right thing.

I believe in being open and honest about my sexuality. If the subject of someone being gay comes up, I volunteer that I am as well. I do not bring the subject up though.
