People of all faiths, can we come together and pray for Benazir Bhutto, a woman who fought for women's rights in Muslim nations and a pioneer.

Muslim or not, she was a humanitarian, a role model for young girls and women everywhere. Let us pray for all the girls and women who struggle in countries who still to this day seek to lessen the status of women and degrade them so. Let us come together as a light and beacon that women are just as loved and are a man's equals.

This prayer goes out to women everywhere and those that support them so that in the future that there will be no such thing as sexism.

Guys- can we come together as brothers, sons, fathers, boyfriends, husbands, relatives, and friends of such women and prove and treat them as our equals and not objects or lesser beings?

Blessings to all of you :-)

it would seem that when it comes to abortion, there's one argument that seems to be the "ace in the hole" for pro-choice people- What to do with the babies?

I don't know much about orphanages, but it doesn't seem like growing up in one is worse than not being born.

The other argument is that we haven't developed a system to care for them.

but my question is: how is that important?

Did the abolitionists have a plan for integrating freedmen? No, they kind of made it up as they went along. Should they have waited to free the slaves until they had a nice plan?

Do we have a plan for taking care of every drug addict? I doubt it, so should we, by that same argument, just forget about drug trafficking because we don't know how to deal?

I guess this may be an obvious question, but how does not having a full plan for "step 2" equate to allowing abortion?

i suppose improved sex ed and the adoption facilities may be a start, or something like that...

If we are supposed to go to heaven then why is there so many scriptures that say we or someone is to live here on the earth??????????

These are just a few examples.......

Ps 37:11
But the meek shall inherit the earth,
And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

Ps 37:9
For evildoers shall be cut off;
But those who wait on the LORD,
They shall inherit the earth.

Mt 5:5
Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth

Isa. 45:18
For thus says the LORD,
Who created the heavens,
Who is God,
Who formed the earth and made it,
Who has established it,
Who did not create it in vain,
Who formed it to be inhabited:

“ I am the LORD, and there is no other.

"For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart." - Hebrews 4:12.

I posted a message yesterday (twice) asking the muslim here to answer a stupid question for a person who was bashing our prophet (PBUH) on the R&S.
All I was asking you is to answer that person. He was so annoying and I wanted more Muslims to answer him and tell him the truth about the marriage of Prophet Muhammed with Aisha.

My question got deleted and because of that my account was suspended. Some people on this section blocked me as well. How could you think that it was my question??
I am Muslim like you and I would never ask such a stupid question.

Thank you

1999 Gallup Poll, half of Americans say they would refuse to vote for an atheist candidate solely on that basis

Today, there are still eight states that have provisions in their state constitutions explicitly barring atheists from holding political office. The Tennessee Constitution states: "No person who denies the being of God, or a future state of rewards and punishments, shall hold any office in the civil department of this state."

A few months ago I was down at the grocery store at Rio Rancho finishing up. A couple of young guys hurried past me to get in line carrying some deli packages. When I got in line there were two people ahead of me between me and them.

An altercation developed between them and the clerk over the price [I surmised] and they got pretty loud fast. She looked over her shoulder and a what? manager, I suppose, came over, looked at the deli packages, said something to the clerk, then the young guys.

I couldn't understand a word they were saying, but they were loud and waving their hands around in funny weird pointee ways talking to each other and shouting at the cashier and guy with the tie.

Then they both stomped out.

The woman ahead of me turned around and said to me, "What did they say?"

I turned my hat around backward [the hat in the icon], waved my hands around sort of the way they had, and said, "Whihoomhah deeche Mnhfnha!"

Tie guy: "We don't allow racism here sir!"

in he imperfect mode? For example...if you translate it literally it would say "and Strong Ones (Elohim) will say let there be light and Strong Ones (Elohim) will divide the light from the darknes"...and so on. Why is this? Is there an English Bible version that translates in this manner? I have not ever seen this until I started learning Biblical Hebrew for myself and discovered this in a translation assignment of Genesis chapter 1. Any insight on this?

I won't dare post this in the Religion section....I won't get one good answer and most people will think I am making this all up.

...the bible says that sometimes it's between one man and two women, or one man and fourteen women, or eighteen women, or seven hundred women...

How is it that some Christians use the slippery-slope argument of, Well, if we allowed gay marriage, they we'd have to allow polygamy too...

As if the bible said that polygamy was a bad thing...frankly, I'm surprised that, in this "Christian" nation (as some Christians like to call it), polygamy isn't more popular...
