of King David, while Jesus chose to live in Nazareth, just a few miles from the Bethlehem of old in the land of Zebulon, Isaiah said he would be born in?

With their bodies reduced to atoms, wouldn't they effectively be dead during transport? Did their souls go through the transporter and return to their newly assembled bodies, or were new souls installed into their "new" bodies (with brains that retained the memories of the dead person)?

I've read previous posts on this site regarding Hell. Several answers that people have posted about Hell being a punishment stated that people "choose" to go to Hell by not believing in Jesus. It's pretty much based on the free-will concept. My thoughts are, what would compel a person to knowingly choose not to believe in a religion if the consequence is eternal torment? Sounds a little masochistic to me lol. Anyway, my point is, how can you call that free-will when in reality it's more like blackmail? It's kinda similar to those individuals that would make statements like "You're either with us, or you're with the terrorists." Most of the people don't want to be labeled a terrorist, so they join the bandwagon. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this one everybody.

are these statements true?

"...[Joseph Smith] PULLING THE SIX-SHOOTER left by Brother Wheelock from his pocket…”(History of the Church V-7, p.102-103)

“…[ Joseph Smith] opened the door slightly and SNAPPED THE PISTOL SIX SUCCESSIVE TIMES; only three barrels, however, were discharged…”(History of the Church V-7, p.102-103)

“…I afterwards understood that two or three were wounded by these discharges, TWO OF WHOM, I AM INFORMED DIED." (History of the Church V-7, p.102-103)

I know a person whi has been a professed athiest his entire life.

When 22 years old he inheruted 31 million dollars -- and this was in1967 !

He went to college and became a social worker in a major city.

He put 30 million in various trusts to help the kids of that city.

He raised three of his own children -- 2 became medical doctors and the other a minister in the MCC!

He also raised 15 forster kids!

He was the most giving person I'd ever known.

He died last year. I cried. (And everyone was shocked to discover he was almost totally broke). And he was STILL a professed athiest.

Now all you CHRISTIANS out there with your "personal relationships" with Jesus and your taking Jesus as your personal saviour. I DARE you to tell me this guy is in hell!

My faith has been tested in the last couple of years, but recently I've felt the need to get back to my Christian roots. I want to start reading the bible again, but don't want to start at the beginning. Can some of you give me some good books, chapters and verses to start reading?

I am Puerto Rican, and the way I was raised was to appreciate my culture and also to get along with all kinds of people, regardless of race. For most of my life I lived up north in Bronx, NY and for only about a year now I've been living down south in Florida. I will admit for the most part I was used to living around a more Latino/Black setting but I was able to get along with people of different races. Whites, blacks, Latinos, different kinds. Down here in the south is alot more different than what I was expecting. Alot more white kids down here seem to be a little more racist than white kids I knew in NY. Since that point where I realized that most of them are racist, I just never associated with any. Or even talk to them. The people I mostly associate with are Latino or black and they're all from New York. Now I have nothing against any race of any kind, but how can I prove I am not a racist if most of these white kids are racist??

Sure peoples in some areas / countrys are getting more edumacated, butt after they reach a certain pont, they will start to get dumberer just like we. Dids Christians in the past no more about God than Christians today? Dids athiests in the past no more about athiestism than athiests today? Sometimes I think us are the dumbererest peoples ever.

I had a dream where I was working in a nursing home, and we were getting people ready to eat, putting them at there tables, I remember even in the dream looking around and knowing I dont work in a nursing home what am I doing here? then the nurse yelled at me " get her, she is taking her out and its her birthday!" I turned and saw a elder ladys daughter taking her from the room, and chased after them in to the hall where a huge table was set up with a huge choc cake, she cut a huge piece off and started just shoving it in this ladys mouth, and then pouring juice right after. (this lady could not eat by herself or walk or talk etc, she was totally depenedent) anyway, she kept shoving it in untill the lady choked then vomited. the vomit went all over her and the daughter. the daughter backed her away and went to her room, I started yelling at her that she did that on purpose, i turned to the rest of the family and yelled it to them, that she was trying to kill her, they were a big bunch of real high and mighty people, they looked at the floor and one said "we know but cant stop it" then I woke up.

I do not know anybody in this dream, everybody were complete strangers.

As a Muslim, I want to apologize for all the violence that is seen in the media. I had nothing to do with 9/11, and neither did any of my friends. We're good people who watch movies, eat pizza, and hate homework like everyone else.

I just want to say that Islam doesn't mean terrorism.

I'm sorry, but you don't KNOW. You may believe something so much that you just think it's impossible for it to be any different, but saying you know something that's impossible to absolutely know just sounds ignorant.

I don't mean to offend anyone, because some people may "know" with good intentions. But, for example, when a Christian says they know that God exists and that atheists are wrong and going to hell, etc., well that is a ridiculous and offensive claim. But, if you say you believe that, then I respect your beliefs and choose to disagree.

Religion is out of control right now precisely because too many people have been too diplomatic for too long. If we’d had the balls to do some straight talking years ago when we should have and put this insulting nonsense in it’s rightful place, with astrology and palmistry we wouldn’t even been talking about this now. We’d be doing something more useful with our time; what a waste of an enlightenment.

So my position is pretty clear, believe whatever you want but if you want me to believe it, then provide evidence or expect mockery and ridicule. Do not expect polite debate. I am not trying to convert anyone to anything. I don’t give a damn what anyone believes as long as I don’t have to keep hearing about it. And by the way that would include condescending atheists, just for future reference.

I am not interested in arguing about whether God exists or not, I couldn’t give a ****; if he does he can go suck eggs for all I care; in fact, he can “know” himself, in the biblical sense because I want nothing to do with any God who would encourage murder on his behalf, which the God of the desert repeatedly does. In fact I’m ashamed and embarrassed to have been created by somebody with such moronic values which is why you’ll never hear me bragging about it.
