I am Puerto Rican, and the way I was raised was to appreciate my culture and also to get along with all kinds of people, regardless of race. For most of my life I lived up north in Bronx, NY and for only about a year now I've been living down south in Florida. I will admit for the most part I was used to living around a more Latino/Black setting but I was able to get along with people of different races. Whites, blacks, Latinos, different kinds. Down here in the south is alot more different than what I was expecting. Alot more white kids down here seem to be a little more racist than white kids I knew in NY. Since that point where I realized that most of them are racist, I just never associated with any. Or even talk to them. The people I mostly associate with are Latino or black and they're all from New York. Now I have nothing against any race of any kind, but how can I prove I am not a racist if most of these white kids are racist??

I'm referring to white kids in a certain area in Florida. (A city in Central Florida) I don't mean to refer to every white kid in Florida.

Also, to answer to some people, yes some people have accused me of being racist. Yes white kids, but also of other races as well.

I know the feeling. I'm White and I grew up with lots of Hispanics and Blacks. Yeah we had our problems, but then as we grew up we got over it and got along. A couple of my best friends were Black by the time I left high school.
When I moved to LA, it seemed like the only friends I could make were white. It was weird and I resented it, but finally I had to accept that that was sort of the way it was.

But I remember this one thing that I learned in a Social Studies class in college. Look every man in the eyes and see who he is, not what race he is. When I do that, I see the person, not the race, and usually (unless they have a problem themselves) that other person can sense that and return the favor.

I've still had people call me racist, but you know what? I thought about it afterwards and realized it was their problem with me, not my problem with them. Ya can't win them all (but you can try).

I think the racist term gets thrown around way to easily. For instance, can I think a black guy is an x-hole if he actually is?
I ought to be able to. There's lots of White x-holes too! Nobody dings me for that!

Why do you need to prove that you are not a racist? Are you being accused of this by caucasians in some way? As long as you give a caucasian the chance to prove that they are not a racist and don't seek out caucasians to say racist things about/to - then don't worry! People unfortunately are different in our country - and sometimes it depends on where you live how people can perceive you. I'm sure that there are caucasians that are NOT prejudiced and will treat you right - you just haven't found them yet. I hope you do - then at least you can prove to yourself that you're not a racists

Yes you are slowly becoming one..plz dont jump to conclusions..im sure every white kid in ur area cant be racist..u need to mix up with every1 and avoid only the prudish ones..infact the only way to change views of the racist people is by showing that you are one of them..and not running away from them..I know it sounds easier said than done...but do not limit urself..expand ur mind..

and look around you ..while some people just stick to thier familiar circles...some other are everywhere..
Best of Luck

You already answered your own question. In NYC you got along with the white kids. That proves that you can get along with a specific race. What you have is a problem with certain individuals, not the entire race.

I'm Cuban myself, and I have never had a problem with white people discriminating against me or being racist. I'm sure that you can find friends from just about any race if you try to, so make some white friends, and show yourself and everyone else around you that you don't have a problem with white people, just with people who treat you as inferior based on your race.

tollerance and understanding of other cultures is a step in the right direction, white kids as any other kids are influenced in their thinking at early age by their role models who are most likely their parents. if you are determined to prove you are not racist attempt to learn and accept others who are different than you. please dont think that some racist people will ever like or tollerate you or your heritage. change the world one person at a time, start with yourself and go from there. good luck.

If you usually get along with other people of a different ethnic background than no, this new change doesn't make you a racist.
You don't have to and shouldn't need to prove that to anyone but if you still feel you do then try to talk to the kids anyway and just ignore their behavior.

First you've got to know which race is on top of evolution.
Make a google search you will find related articles.
On average:
1.The black have the lowest IQ, the white a bit higher, Eastern Asians the highest.
2.the black reach bodily maturity the earliest, the white a bit later, Eastern Asians the latest
3.the black babies start walking at 11 months old, white babies 12months, Eastern Asians 13 months old
4.The black r the most extrovert, the white a bit more introvert, Eastern Asians the most introvert
5.The black have the strongest body n longest legs, the white a bit weaker and shorter. Eastern Asians the weakest and shortest.
The white r much closer with the black in genes than with Eastern Asians.
Being weak in body, high IQ,reaching maturity n start walking late, being introvert r signs of being more evolutional.
Do u mean the white kids think they're more evolutional than the black?
Tell me which race is the symbol of human evolution(the most evolutional)

people go where they feel most comfortable - it doesn't make you a racist to associate with people who make you feel okay to be you... And it is a definite that the cultures and upbringing in the south are FAR different than the cultures and upbringings in the North....

please note that you don't have to prove anything to anyone. You being happy in your space is far more important than what people may think... AND note that if you are happy you are going to draw happy people to you - no matter the color...

You aren't racist!

Most of us whites aren't...and it's fine if you don't want to talk to them!!

Being racist would be thinking that one race is superior to another...and that's not what you're describing. What you're saying is what you've been around your whole life and what you're used to. And just because you tend to hang around a particular race doesn't mean anything...you said yourself: 'I have nothing against any race of any kind,' so there you go!

hope that helps :]
