while he taught on earth?

To those who think I know little about the bible I say this. YOU read the bible and quit being "selective" for it is well known King David was chosen by Samuel the prophet. A "prophet" lead astray by the God that later injected himself as "God in heaven" of which he was NOT. After Samuel died, Saul went to the witch of Endor, of course in disquise to conjure up the spirit of Samuel. When she did, "where" did Samuel come from? Out of Heaven? "No." He came UP out of the Earth. Even God in heaven himself "silenced" David for his ways, and IS why Jesus did not like being told he was his "descendant."

Adopted lineage.Jesus was not a Jew for starters. And David repented. That's the Grace of God you know. Many evil backslidden people are in the Bible. But repentance means forgiveness from a just God.Always the job of a scoffer to point out the mistakes in a person's life. Please read the Psalms.David was a great man.Flawed, but great.

You MIGHT mean this:

Luke 20
42 David himself declares in the Book of Psalms:
" 'The Lord said to my Lord:
"Sit at my right hand
43 until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet." ' 44 David calls him 'Lord.' How then can he be his son?"

That wasn't a denial. That was a revelation! Who do you think he was saying he was with that statement? If he was denying in being the son of David, as you say, then who was he calling Himself? He said, "The Lord said to my Lord."

and then there is this:
Psalm 45
6 Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever;
a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.
7 You love righteousness and hate wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions
by anointing you with the oil of joy.

Who was God calling God?

And then there is this:
Isaiah 9
6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Why can't people see this? Does God's word mean nothing?!

The linage of Jesus as told in Matthew 1:6 shows that Jesus came from the tribe of Judah, From David the King. Jesus never denied that linage. Remember he fulfilled the Prophets.

An interesting comment, based upon Matt 22:41-45. It seems Jesus was challenging the prevailing thought that Messiah was only going to be an earthly offspring of David, and nothing more. The emphasis here is that Messiah was not merely Davids son, but his Lord (God). This is similar to Jesus' interaction with the rich young ruler. After the young man addressed Jesus as "Good teacher", Jesus asked him, "Why do you call me good? There is none good but one, that is, God." I don't think that Jesus was trying to convince this young man that He wasn't good! I think Christ was challenging his understanding of just who-and what-Jesus really was. Jesus was referred to as "Son of David" a number of times in the gospels, and never rejected that title (Mark 10:47,48; Matt. 15:22; Matt. 21:915,16). Jesus, after His resurrection and ascension, identified Himself in Rev. 22:16 as "the root and offspring of David..," declaring both His Deity and incarnate humanity, which is what He was trying to get across to His hearers in the account recorded in Matthew 22:41-45.

Where in the Bible did Jesus deny being the Son of David? If you read his lineage, he was a descendant of David

Asking the Pharisees how David could call the Christ Lord in spirit was not denying that he himself was the son of David.

In Mark12:35+

The pharisees thought that the messiah would come from David as a desendant. As a physical son. Jesus didn't say 'I'm not kind David's son", just that he meant that he wasn't the physical son.

". . . and Jacob begat Joseph." [Matthew 1: 16]

IF the lineage as given in Matthew is correct, then HOW can Jesus be of the house of David since Joseph was NOT his father?

(Thought this was a virgin birth etc).

Also Luke [3 :23]wrote: "And Jesus . . the son of Joseph who was the son of He'li"

Seems someone here has to be wrong.

We don't normally call Him the Son of David, we call Him the Son of God. He didn't deny His Deity, nor His right to the Throne of David. Someone is misinforming you.
