I am putting a trivia quiz together for Boxing day.

I was wondering if anyone could give me a decent question (and the answer) that I could include in the general knowledge section based on religion please (any religion, I'm easy on that)

In about 4 billion years, the Sun will no longer be able to support itself under its own weight and it will go supernova or maybe turn onto a Red Giant. Either way, the Earth will be consumed by this process and life as we know it will cease to exsit. What will happen to the human race after we can no longer inhabit the Earth? Will we all go to heaven or is there some other plan in place for this eventuality? Please only answer if you have a legitimate reply. Also, please do not quote the Bible in your answer as I would prefer if people only gave answers they have formulated in their own mind. Thanks.

I'm just unsure. I believe in one God who created the universe. I believe nature guides life today. I do not believe Jesus Christ was the son of God, but do think he was an example of good morals. I believe in after life, but more alone the lines of reincarnation. I'm a pasifict. I do not believe in organized religion.
i dunno, i just wanna believe something but nothing seems to fit how i feel.

Did God write the epistles, the four gospellers works, Moses' efforts as well as Daniels and Davids contributions?
What corruptions, if any, have crept in through the variety of translations.
Perhaps you will agree that it could be about 50% the 'word of God'

How else would i have populated the world? there were only two of us...then Eve had two sons...it was hard to find a girl to even cheat on for a while there. thankfully, we eventually had some girls.

How can incest be wrong if God commanded we populate the world that way?

anyone see my wife?

We have several challenges in our office--and I'm certain this is the same in most work places. We have a mix of ages & genders--but most everyone earns the same and has the same lifestyle. Our group (about 30 people) are always very excited to have food days. The idea being that everyone brings a dish to pass, cutting down on individual lunches needed to be packed. Only 3 or 4 peole are ever willing to make a suitable dish for a meal, the rest want to bring soda liters, chips, or store bought sweets. This is lazy, and much less expensive--and unfair. The "snack" people are always the people to request frequent food days too. Should we charge people who don't contribute at all money and pool that for carryout pizza days--or require that people choose a dish off a prepared list? We've gently suggested people "amp" up their efforts--but nothings worked. What does everyone else do? I guess if I didn't bring anything, or spent .79, I wouldn't feel entitled to graze all day.

you never see it that well. Now heres a little joke I heard a while ago although many of you probably know it.

Their is a woman who is about to drown in a flash flood, the water is up to her knees. A boat comes along and the guy says,"jump in or your going to drown." But the woman says,"no thanks God will save me." The waters up to her neck and a rescue boat comes along and the guy says,"jump in or your going to drown." Again the lady says,"no thanks God will save me." So finally she's on top of her house and a helicopter comes and the guy says to jump in again but the woman still refuses by saying,"God will save her." Later on she drowns and meets God in heaven and says,"I devoted my life to you, went to church, and prayed to you my entire life why didn't you save me?" And God said,"I sent you 2 boats and a helicopter what else did you want?"

I thought it was a pretty insightful little joke.

I'm not even saying that's a bad idea, I'm just wondering if you've thought about it.

1) Do you know any Catholics personally, other than those here on R&S?

2) On what do you base your judgment of Catholicism? (Cite specific sources, please: "My pastor," "The book (fill in the title)", etc.

3) Have you ever listened to what Catholics here have told you about the Faith? If so, why do you reject what they have told you?

Thanks in advance. I'll be interested in the answers.

Mormons claim that Jesus was not from heaven, but was a man that became a god

and we can do the same thing, point out to me any mormon memebers if i am wrong so far

In Mormon theology there are three Priesthoods: the Aaronic Priesthood which is an appendent to the Melchizdek Priesthood, the Melchizedek Priesthood, and the Patriarchal Priesthood.

The bible indicates that there is only one such person who may be given the title Melchizedek:

Hebrews: 7-11:16

And what we have said is even more clear if another priest like Melchizedek appears, 16one who has become a priest not on the basis of a regulation as to his ancestry but on the basis of the power of an indestructible life. For it is declared:
"You are a priest forever,
in the order of Melchizedek."[a]

Mormons offer the same title of priesthood. That from then on is reserved for Jesus alone,

whatsmore, freemasonry offers the same rank to level 19 initiates,

Is this how you become gods yourselves?

I've often wondered at the inadequacies that gnaw at us constantly. It would seem that we feel heavily our insecurities and do not trust our own capabilities.

I think people find security in boundaries; it would seem that mankind has the inborn need to know his limits. In all facets of life, we defer to others: we have bosses and governors, and presidents, and ministers...all the way up to God.

It would seem that these superiors are there as required checks, a hold on the idea of our own selves being our guiding lights. We abdicate our independence and also our responsibility. We can claim innocence when we can claim a superior--we can also claim forgiveness, merely for the asking, without restoration or redress of grievances.

What do you think? Are we so unsure of ourselves and unwilling to be responsible for ourselves that we set in place superiors to provide boundaries and absolution? If we were our own God and master, would we also fairly mete out our own justice?

I really don't want to have kids. I hate kids. I can only tolerate maybe 5-15% of children. My mom keeps on saying that men like kids. Wahtever, the ones I've seen abandon a girls who is pregnat or they don't want to have anything to do with her because she has children. All my friends think that I'm crazy for not wanting kids.Plus, I wouldn't want to spend all my money on someone else. I want to club, party, work, and shop fo rhte rest of my life. I only depend and provide for ME! My needs come first. Yes, I'm selfish and arrogant and I have no problem with it because I know what I want. I gonna have a husband or a long time boyfriend. Plus, I don't want my body all messed up after I have a child. Women in my family don't really take motherhood that well, they either end up getting big or have a lot of scars and stretch marks. EW! No offense to mothers or fathers who do a great job like mines.
