The bible warns us clearly that others will come along trying to add more religious books to the word of God

1 Galatians: 8-12
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!

(NIV)

Joseph Smith met an angel called moroni who showed him a whole new gospel called the book of mormon which then disspaeared so no one else could see

Jesus warns us about this very thing happening, so when mormonism is established thosands of years later by the EXACT method Jesus warned us about why would you choose to beleive it?

And if you do, what do you think Jesus meant with the words of
1 Gal:8-12

If mormons beleive in the bible, why do they think the whole bible appiles apart from 1 Gal:8-12

Further in the book of revelations God lays out a penalty for anyone who tries to add and improve upon his word:

Asalam Alaikum
I know it Ramadan you are supposed to try and read the whole Quran, basically a Juz a day. Is there any prescribed or recommended reading outside of Ramadan? I try to read a least 2 Juz a week, but if there is something that is Sunnah to do I would prefer to do it that way.

It seems that so many people purposely ask or answer questions that are negative towards God or Christianity. Why? I am a Christian and do not make mean comments or ask questions that are offensive to other religious groups, so why do people do that against Christians?

I visited my Pastors house that was six times the size of our small apartment. His wife did not work and he was the pastor of our large protestant church. Why is it that the bible teaches us not to surround ourselves in the riches of the world and yet the pastors I have met and see on TV are shamelessly flaunting their wealth?

With few exceptions, aquatic life depends on a very unique condition in their environment to survive. The differences between these conditions are extremely different to salt water and fresh water life. If the earth was covered in water, how would both extremes be met in one body of water. Keep in mind that salt water is not dense enough to keep fresh water on it's surface because I know that will be a popular argument along with the cop out "anything is possible with god" answer.

There was a debate on the news on whether or not the father of Jamie Lynn Spears baby should be prosecuted for having sex with an underage girl.
My question is this, do you think he should be prosecuted, and to make this religion, please let me know what your faith is.

In times past, religion used to be a rejection of nothing except beliefs different to ones own beliefs. But as our knowledge and understanding of the universe has grown, religion has steadily become more and more focused on rejecting specific scientific discoveries. Fundamentalists have started popping up where before there were none and the genesis of their existence coincides with advances in science. Creationists have crossed a point and their doctrine is centered on rejecting the Theory of Evolution. Will the rest of religion soon follow suit and be focused on rejecting the truth?

The Watchtower Society has on the Governing Body the annointed elect which are the last of the 144,000 left.
What will happen hypothetically if Christ does not return before the Governing Body dies? Will the society fill the positions with people other than the elect that were part of the 144,000? Serious question, no flaming JW stuff or Christian stuff. Thanks

My preacher has said that the bible also says this along with the quran and the torah.
and I also found this:

If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst.

from the bible.
so if it is true, then why do we say its only islam or other religons that condemn voilence when ours the same?

Is it wrong for a teacher to bash religion, namely Christianity, and constanly insert athiestic beliefs into a history lecture?

Is one "wrong" and the other "okay"? Why or why not?

Not a homework assignment. Just saw where an atheist teacher was getting sued by some students and parents over a matter. Tried to find an article about it, but couldnt seem to locate one.

All beliefs must be based on evidence. This is a fact. Therefore if you try to claim you don't require evidence to believe something, you're lying to yourself. For example: If you believe in the Judeo Christian God, you *require* evidence to hold this belief. If you didn't use evidence on which to base your beliefs you wouldn't even know about the Judeo Christian God. The evidence you probably rely on is: a) ancient texts b)religious teachings, and (possibly) c) personal observations.

All very unreliable forms of evidence. Personally, I believe that religious people know this and through a twisted "sour grapes" method of thinking, claim they don't require evidence..which is knowingly impossible and therefore a lie.

The other day i saw a person do something i've seen hundreds of times. They casually tossed a cigarette out their car window as if it was nothing.
Why do smokers think that this is ok?
I am usually pretty understanding when it comes to smokers. I feel bad that they can smoke in designated areas, but when they do that it irks me.
Who else thinks this?
Who disagrees and why?
If your a smoker do you do this?
Can anyone defend this?
