Asalam Alaikum
I know it Ramadan you are supposed to try and read the whole Quran, basically a Juz a day. Is there any prescribed or recommended reading outside of Ramadan? I try to read a least 2 Juz a week, but if there is something that is Sunnah to do I would prefer to do it that way.

Some scholars believe that whoever recites or reads the Qur'an twice a year, he/she fulfills its right. This is so because Angel Gabriel, exposed the Qur'an twice to the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) in the year the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) died. [Reported by Imam al-Bukhari ] However, other scholars think that it is dislikable to postpone reading the whole Qur'an less than forty days for no sound excuse. This is because Abdallah Ibn Umar once asked the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) What is the period in which you complete reading the whole Qur'an? The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) answered: Each forty days. [ Abu Dawood , al-Tirmizi and al-Nasa'e ]

Imam Ahamad Bin Hanbal said: 'According to many narrations the Salaf used to recite the whole Qur'an within forty days' . Allah knows best.

According to sunnah, you can read it and finished it by 1 month, 30 days 30 juz, 1 juz per day. or 40 days, 6 section per day. or 60 days 4 section per day. or if you are stronger, finished it in 20 dyas, or even more, 1 week. But never less then 3 days.

according to ijtihad by the scholars, the rights of the holy quran we should kept is to finish reading it twice per year.

the one thing that remain constant, you should read it everyday, according to your ability, and never to let a day pass you by without reading it.
and it is commendable to read it a approximately the same amount of verses/section per day. as the holy prophet always advise, a little per day and doing it constantly is better then reading so many but sporadically/once in a while.

Walaikum Assalam sis,

During Ramadan we sinful beings should atleast finish one juz per day and women should read 1.5 because they miss 7 days during Ramadan.

As far as daily recommendations are concerned, its been said read it as much as you can but atleast 5 mins. This will soothe your eyes as well as soul. So its like, the dish will become more n more sweet if you keep putting in more n more sugar, so more you read more u gain but its been said for women that their house work is as same as a jihad that they serve their families and is considered as sawab but when they are free they must rest or read Quran.
Few months back, I used to complete a juz in 3 days. but now for few months I have got busy with house work, so its like I try to read atleast a page in one sitting.
