I'm 26 yrs old and have been baptised and made my first communion. My sister is having a baby in March and I might need to be confirmed to be the God Father.

How do I do this?

What's involved?

Will I be able to complete the process in time?

Thanks!

You will have to go to weekly classes one night a wek for about 8 to 12 weeks.

Depending on when the classes start and end you should be able to be confirmed in time.

Contact your local parish about enrolling in an adult Confirmation course.

With love in Christ.

Congratulations on becoming a more active memberof the Church. I hope your faith brings you all the joy and solace that it can over your lifetime.

You need to approach your pastor/ parish priest about this. A child doesn't need to be baptised immediately (as you've seen for yourself!). Depending on what you did to be baptised and make your First Communion, you may only have a bt more study to do to become confirmed. There are special programs for peopel wanting to do this. But the most important thing is, don't delay. Talk to your parish priest ASAP. Starting now, you could be confirmed by May or June-- plenty of time for a new baby!

Congratulations and God bless.

To be confirmed, you generally need to undergo RCIA courses. Talk to a priest about it as soon as possible, and he'll be able to go into more detail about your specific situation. It's fairly safe to say that if you start RCIA now, you probably won't be finished with the coursework by March, but talk to the priest about it. He may have some other suggestions for you.
