Yes. It was either a really big fish or a whale. Keep in mind that the system of classification of animals that we use today came after the Bible was written, so back then, anything that swam in the sea may have been considered a "fish", so it could just as well have been a whale.
Imagine what Jonah would have looked like staggering into Nineveh - covered in goo and sores from being partially digested, telling the people to repent or their town would be destroyed. I can see why the people would have been frightened. This was also Jonah's punishment for trying to run away from God when God gave him an explicit command to go to Nineveh.

Yes. In fact, many people have been swallowed by whales and lived for days, then survived to tell about it. It's happened two times in the last few hundred years, that we know about. It's not far-fetched to say it happened to Jonah.

Jesus Christ did:
"He (Jesus) answered, "A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now one greater than Jonah is here."
Matthew 12:39-41
I believe Jesus Christ.
I believe He was raised from the dead.

Actually that's not as miraculous as it would seem. In the 1800's a whaling ship named the 'Star of the East', operating off the Falkland Islands in the South Atlantic caught a whale and when they cut it open they found a man. He was still alive and lost all his hair. He had to spend some time to get rehabilitated, but he lived through it.

Yes, I do believe it because Jesus himself,,used it to teach those around him about his death and resurrection,,,,and I am just fine if you choose not to beleive it. One day we all know the truth, it won't be my truth or your truth,,,it will be the truth of God. So if it amuses you to mock, just remember there will be a day of reckoning for every idle word you utter against God will come back to judge you on the final day.
