Sigh. I love this question, and I've heard it so many times. From where I'm standing, Liberals are the ones with the morals. They do good since it's the right thing to do. If people actually read the bible as a whole, rather than isolated passages, they'd see that Jesus was the ultimate liberal.

The religious conservatives tend to do good for fear of going to hell. That's not an example of morals, but of self-interest. Plus, look at those in the public eye. They tend to SAY that they're the ones with morals, but when it comes down to it, they cheat, steal, and lie all the time.

Plus, you can't say that a sizeable chunk of America has no faith. We're as wide a variety of people as you could find. I know atheist liberals, and devout Christian liberals.

properly it isn't honest to say that each one liberals do no longer have self belief interior the Lord Jesus Christ. Making blanket statements as such does no longer educate Christianity in any respect. all and sundry can believe interior the Lord no remember what race or political association they are. it isn't like the conservatives are all Christians.

I have been a born again believer since 1974.
I am a liberal democrat, and hope to vote for Hilary for president and Obama for vice president.
I have better morals than most people, I have led a religious life for most of my years, preaching, evangelizing, fasting and praying, have been celibate for 20 years since my wife left me for a serious of illicit relationships. I have never smoke or drank.
Look at the trend of Western Civilization since Christ. It comprises a steady progress toward liberalization, greater personal liberty, greater tolerance for unusual 'lifestyles', greater social responsibility, government inspection of private business such as meat packers and drug manufacturers, labor unions, minimum wage, the list goes on.
All these things you take for granted living in Europe and America and wherever else Christianity and consequently Liberalism has dominated. All these things were greatly controversial liberal ideas when they were first begun.
Consider for a moment the other side. Conservatism is nothing of the sort, under Republican rule we have lost civil rights, seen our government engage in such torture and war mongering as it had previously abhored, seen the environment and the economy go from bad to worse. Conservatism caters to the rich and powerful, enabling them in their sins against their neighbor. Liberalism obeys first and foremost the Biblical injunction, "Love your neighbor."
Liberalism is Christianity in action.
