Why do we disagree, if there is no such a thing as right and wrong? Hey, why don't we open doors with a hammer? Cook pizza with a blow dryer? Speak with our farts? What do you mean that's wrong? You told me there are no wrong answers.

if you don't know what it is, it's basically saying this:

if you don't believe in god and there is no god, you've lost nothing.
if you believe in god and there is no god, you've lost nothing.
if you believe in god and there is a god, you've just gotten a ticket to paradise.
if you don't believe in god and there is a god, then you're screwed.
Therefore, the wise person would think along the lines of "ok, since i've got nothing to lose and possibly a lot to gain by believing and possibly a TON to lose by not believing, i'll believe just to be safe.

Still, my question is this: If one follows that thought process, what happens when that person dies, assuming there is a god? wouldn't s/he see right through his motives?

If you think that there is a God but is not involved in any religion this question is for you.
Don't you think that God would send down some rules for us to follow and influence man to create a "religion" for him so people could understand Him (God).
If you disagree than why would God just sit back and not intervene with his creation. Why would he not send rules and man to speak for him? Peace

Because apparently someone in the paper reckons it is an insult to people who actually believe it is all true. What do you think, and what is your religious affiliation?

I am not at all trying to say that we should preach that we need to follow OT law. Galations powerfully disputes this.

But do you think that when we do things like tithe, keep the Sabbath holy, etc, etc, that we are especially blessed?

If you think this is true, how far down does this go? I mean clearly, there are some parts of the OT Law that we cannot and should not follow --- things that would need a theocracy instated by God and/or the sacrficial system, when we know that Jesus is the last sacrifice.

But do you think there are certain parts of the OT law that we are blessed by following? If so, what parts, and how so?

Before there were any written or oral spiritual traditions, before there was any idea about the nature of God, or things spiritual, how do you think people viewed their connection with the universe, with life, with their purpose of existence? It is theorized that in such times past there was a greater consciousness, a greater connection, for one reason because of a close community with nature and the natural order of things, and also because there were no preconceived notions or acceptable methods to channel and express things spiritual.

Taking this into consideration, we know that there are many instances of children who, lacking any ideas of spirituality, seem to accept most naturally the occurrence of spiritual things--the "invisible friends" of childhood, for instance. Are they spirits? Angels? Beings we adults cannot see because we have lost that innocent connection?

What do you think? When we define our perceptions, do we also lose something of them? Your thoughts?
