well see i was just wondering. i will always accept all my friends for who they are.

if they want to follow the bible, i dont want them to do something that goes against what they believe. but at the same time i dont want to tell them because that is who they are and i wouldnt change it.

then again we all have sinned (if u believe in sin or not). thanks for u opinions guys.

I have never heard any argument, valid or otherwise, for an inherent attraction to the same sex being a sin. Simply being homo- or bi-sexual is not sinful.

Many Christians will argue that male-to-male sexual activity is a sin quoting Leviticus' "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination." (18:22) It is really up to the individual to determine whether this is a valid argument or not.

I have also never heard a Biblically supported argument, valid or otherwise, suggesting that lesbian-specific sexual activity is a sin.

The idea that it is a sin came from the old testament and the new testament. The old testament says it is a sin because the Jews wanted to expand and keep propogating their race, and homosexuals did not have children, so they viewed that as evil and commanded the death penalty for it. But they also said you should be killed for working on the sabbath, and that a woman who is raped has to marry her rapist, so hey....... The new testament says it is a sin because Paul was a man of his times and ancient Rome was very decadent, so for him, even heterosexual sex was a sin if unmarried, and even then it wasn't considered the best. Perfect chastity was the ideal. But he also thought the world was going to end any minute so hey.....Jesus never said anything about homosexuals. All the religious writings on the subject are from another time and culture, so leave it at that.

Yes. Someone gave you the verse in Romans though not a KJV translation. Then we know Leviticus 20:13, then there is Revelation 21:8 whereby we are taught that the abominable shall have their part in the lake of fire. Homosexuality is called an abomination in Leviticus.

There are Christian denominations and churches that accept gays, lesbians and bisexuals without requiring them to change. Some Methodists, Quakers, Episcopalians and MCC. Some Jewish groups are also totally accepting.

Perhaps your friends are members of one of those groups.

There are also a LOT of religions that don't think homosexuality or bisexuality is wrong.

Yes they are sins, but they are no worse than lying, stealing, or any other sin. You can be a christian and be gay, but you must be trying to live by the bible and ask forgivness for your tresspasses. Love everyone, but fight against immorality.

I cant tell you where it is in the Bible but I have heard a quote saying that it is an abomination for a man to lie down with another man as if he were a woman....or something like that.

Again, I don't know where in the bible that quote is but I have heard it quoted several times.

My husband used to be a practicing homosexual. He's now a Christian and no longer gay, as I have the kids to prove it. (So please refrain from calling me a whore or saying my husband must be cheating on me--now that's hateful). I know several Christians who are ex-gays, so saying "God made me this way" is a cop-out. I don't hate homosexuals. We are all sinners, and God forgives everybody who seeks forgiveness and is willing to repent. Many people have homosexual desires; I'm not saying they "choose" to have them. But many people also get so mad at others that they sometimes fantasize about murder. Does that mean that they were born to be serial killers and they should just embrace their homicidal nature and force everyone to pretend it's normal? No. We don't HAVE to ACT on all our sinful desires. THAT"S a choice. I would advise any "gay/bi Christian" to not act on those desires and pray to be delivered of their lusts.

Homosexuality and bisexuality are not a sin, but sodomy is. Sodomy is any anal sex and oral sex between a man and a woman. Oral sex between two men or two women is not sodomy and is therefore not a sin.
