you never see it that well. Now heres a little joke I heard a while ago although many of you probably know it.

Their is a woman who is about to drown in a flash flood, the water is up to her knees. A boat comes along and the guy says,"jump in or your going to drown." But the woman says,"no thanks God will save me." The waters up to her neck and a rescue boat comes along and the guy says,"jump in or your going to drown." Again the lady says,"no thanks God will save me." So finally she's on top of her house and a helicopter comes and the guy says to jump in again but the woman still refuses by saying,"God will save her." Later on she drowns and meets God in heaven and says,"I devoted my life to you, went to church, and prayed to you my entire life why didn't you save me?" And God said,"I sent you 2 boats and a helicopter what else did you want?"

I thought it was a pretty insightful little joke.

I've heard that one. I always thought it was funny too. My mom always told me "If you stuck on a boat in a storm, don't pray for the storm to stop. Pray for the strength to row to shore"

Those boats and helicopters were sent by the Coast Guard or some kind of Emergency Services. God had nothing to do with any of it.

Pity he didn't provide a soft place to land for the 7 year-old girl who was ejected from a pickup truck in Phoenix this week. I guess God didn't try to help her.

I wonder why not?

It's one of my favorite jokes. But when applying to the real world, see how it relates to my own question:

"God helps those who help themselves"
Is probably the most often quoted phrase that is not found in the Bible.

lol! sad but true!
what does the bible say? Gods not going to give you super powers to help you but he provides the way out! its just up to us to see when he does that, 'let not our prayers be in vain,'

Or, there is no god, and the woman needed to save her own butt.
