Were most of you at some time "Christians"? Were you islamic? Were you just born into an atheistic family? Also, if you/your family practiced some religion, how strongly did you believe in your religion? Please don't group me with my fellow "Christians" who just sit around telling you you're going to hell. I'm not one of them. Serious answers only, please(even though saying this won't affect anything)

I'm leaning toward Barack Obama. What's your thoughts?

DES MOINES, Iowa - Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign on Sunday requested the resignation of a second Iowa volunteer coordinator who forwarded a hoax e-mail saying Barack Obama is a Muslim possibly intent on destroying the United States.
Obama is a member of the United Church of Christ and says he has never been a Muslim, but false rumors attempting to tie him to Islamic jihadists are circulating on the Internet.

Most wars thruout history were started by religion. Today inside Iraq, Israel, Sudan etc. there is heart ache and suffering. If there is a heavon then if you're good you should get it. If you kill people in the name of God Allah etc. then burn in hades forever if there is a hear after. If not then why hurt others unless your a sadistic one.

humanist dont believe in anything supernatural, they obey the law, they treat people equally. when someone dies, that person still lives in peoples hearts and memories. and many more things. well to me it sounds like the things atheists do.

Most (not all) of you may find the bible to be nothing but fairy tales. I know it's full of punishment and sin. but it also talks of love and compassion. Moral stories that we can use in our lives that can help us become better people.
What I guess I am asking, if you think their is anything in the bible that you don't think is a bunch f crap.

okay, i think i have it.

Since athiest or some atheist rather, argue to say that everything is made by man, .....

then wouldn't everythinig be known? Nothing would be secret and everything would be known, possible, and have an answer! God wouldn't have been made up if this was the case. Right? Is this a flaw in the argue against atheism and christianity?

I am planning on starting to go to an elderly home with a group of people and perform community service. We plan to read to them. I thought we should perhaps read shorter pieces, like short stories and poems, and avoid depressing subject matter. My friend suggested that we also do projects with them.
Any ideas for further activities or suggestions for short pieces to read?

I am asking because my beliefs of what an Atheist was isn't what I've seen here.

I thought that atheists didn't have a religious life - they didn't "not believe" in religion, they weren't religious. People like this, I wouldn't believe, wouldn't be trying to push and persuade anyone to not be religious.

But, I've seen here that many atheists seem to be anti-religious instead of not religious. They also try to prove their beliefs to others when I would think an atheist (who doesn't worry about religion) wouldn't give two cents...

So.... are real Atheists no religion or anti religion?

I ask this because the Qu'ran is said to be words received by Muhammad from Allah, so if the science is wrong then a certain consequence is that Allah is wrong as well.
