I didn't eat TV dinners when I was a kid, but I fed plenty of them to my kids! They seemed to love them and it sure was convenient for me. I liked the roast beef myself with gravy and brownies or apple pie for dessert. The turkey and dressing were good too, and I also liked the Swanson chicken pot pies.

Yes and I remember saving the trays for my aunt.
She and my uncle both worked (very unusual back in the early and mid fifties here in California) so she would cook all day Saturday and make up her own TV dinners to avoid having to cook dinner during the week(they had a hundred mile round trip commute every day). They also had two freezers... One about 20 cu ft upright that was used mainly for TV dinners and one chest type that must have been twenty-four cu ft.
I always envied my cousins getting to eat TV dinners every day.
Looking back... Maybe they weren't so fortunate...

Husband says he remembers eating TV dinners and the weekend routine but I never tasted a TV dinner(that I'm aware of) until after I was married.

That is one thing that was never ever inside of my parents house. I remember going to the store with mom and seeing them and always wondered what they tasted like.
It was after I got married and then divorced (17 years later) before I ever had one. Since I have been single, I have had my share of them.
Since I live close by mom and dad now (30') from their house, I have to be care full that she don't know that I get them. She would have a fit cause as she says "why pay someone else to fix a meal when you can make it cheaper your self". But living alone I don't like fixing all that stuff that goes into one, unless I am going to fix a dinner for them and myself. But I get hungry at night, so easy to just pop one in the microwave and in a few seconds you are eating a good meal. AND NO CLEANING UP!!!!!

No, I was way before the TV dinner time.
I had never even tasted one, until 5 years ago and that was when my hubby, started doing the cooking.
I like the chicken and turkey pot pie. I don't like the beef pie.
The Stouffer's lasagna is very good.
I know of caterers using the family size for their clients.
We use them for family gatherings and wedding's and no one knows the difference from home made.

Yes, we had them, there were 5 of us in the family and you could get 5 dinners for $1.00. I liked the turkey and dressing and the meatloaf ones. Back then the tray was filled with food and we really liked them.

Yup-That Swanson with the minuscule pieces of fried chicken-the nasty instant potatoes and corn? How did we ever think those were delicious?
