i am reading some of these answers, and thinking to myself, how can you think god would forgive people for representing him as a hypocritical savage, you think the book is still worthy of worship even though you admit he is represented as such? yet there is still salvation for those who would believe such things about the all loving god? yet none for those who reject the negative image of this God? do you not think god would favor those who refuse to believe he really isn't all forgiving?

i also find it kind of silly, (if you are reading some of the christian answers) that they are personaly attacking me and my thoughts on God, which are stated noplace in the question....i never said i didnt believe in god, i just don't believe in the bible version of god, because they describe him in ways that his actions do not follow, he is described as all forgiving, yet we are damned to hell? we are loved, yet he floods the world? lots of the christians answering aren't even adressing the question, thats what happens when you are faced with questions you can't answer? and i have researched, i have read the bible 6 times, and i read it the way i was tought to read in 1st grade, is there a secret way to read the bible only christians know how to do?

We know and can prove that man creates gods: we've created them thousands of times, all over the planet. However, the opposite is not knowable or provable. There's no reason to inject the supernatural into reality: but if you insist, then the proposition that God created man is pure conjecture – NOBODY knows the supernatural. Period.
The fact that man has created countless gods, from time immemorial, is very compromising to believers. They assert that the gods and religions that came before and after their own are false – but theirs is real and true. Maintaining the falsehood of those thousands of other gods and religions – while claiming the truth of their own – is patently and transparently ridiculous. Is it not?
I've tried to tackle huge topics in a single answer and usually don't succeeded well. Sometimes I raise more questions than I answer because space is limited here.
There are a myriad of arguments for or against God. There's no direct evidence for a creator God but it's a well-known fact that men create gods. To me, it's necessary to define what you mean by "God" to begin with. For most of us, that means a God defined by a religion.
And that's where the problems start . . . at least for the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam). For the remainder of this answer, any mention of "religion" means "Abrahamic religion" for short.
Religions are born into enmity because they try to lay claim to God. This insistence on exclusivity sets up religions for contention unless or until they convert the entire world – thereby eliminating the "competition". This is why, I believe, these religions all await the end-time when God will finally do the eliminating for them.
It's a forgone conclusion that no single religion (much less, denomination!) will win the world on its own. After all, they've had between 1,400 and 3,500 years (Islam and Judaism, respectively) to do so and haven't made any real progress. Christianity, with over 2 billion adherents, leads the pack but Islam, at 1.3 billion, is coming on strong (again). Despite being many centuries older than Christianity or Islam, Judaism has only 14 million adherents. If ANY religion truly is THE right one, I don't believe the competition would have survived this long.
Given all this . . . how are we supposed to decide which religion, if any, is right? The first one? The biggest one? The most sophisticated one? The most realistic one? The competition reduces our choice to a roll of the dice. And why would we go to hell for choosing the wrong one? It's ridiculous. Can God really be so sadistic? And if so, why would you worship him?
No . . .
NO religion can be valid if God exists AND is good. Any entity who could create the universe, would not be so petty as to set up his "intelligent" beings for condemnation. Why would the Creator give us free choice, only to confuse the choice of Creator? I say that if God exists, ALL religions are heretical. If God is good, we wouldn't be killing each other in His name. In the paraphrased words of Stephen Roberts:
"I contend that we are both anti-religion. I just believe in one fewer religion than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible religions, you will understand why I dismiss yours."
Oh yes . . . and forget about "Original Sin". It's the biggest lie in the Bible and the foundation of other lies. I am no more accountable for Eve than I am for Hillary Clinton or for you.
I believe God could, or might, exist; but I'm certain that NO religion is valid.

God does exist and I personally don't believe any entity that lived on this Earth, save that of Christ, had it totally right when it came to a complete picture of the full face of God. That's like the flea trying to perceive the entirety of the elephant. It's just too mind boggling to capture all at once so you focus on one limited section at a time, based on your limited grasp.
Just as you have many moods, are we to judge you as being ALWAYS mad when you are upset? You must be a horrible, mean and grouchy person! Are we to judge you as always passive and silent when don't speak up? You must be boring, stupid, and worthless entity!
So quit using your woman-made yardsticks to try to judge the Almighty. I don't think you or anybody else living can truly know the full mind and character of God in this lifetime. With your disparaging words and doubts about the existance of God, you may want to cut Him / Her / or It...some SLACK. One day you may be in a difficult position where God is looking right at you and I think you're going to want a little SLACK for all the many bad things you said and did during this lifetime. And we all do and say bad things at different times in our lives.
Give forgiveness and understanding if you wish to receive forgiveness and understanding. The formula is very simple.

Your link has Ps 83:18 right. Yes I think God would be offended, especially over things like the trinity which is man made and not found or taught in the bible.

Maybe what you really mean is how he is represented by the masses! Obviously, you haven't done alot of study on the subject and this is not a question but simply a campaign to discredit the truth. Here's some interesting reading for you.

People make him out to be an egocentric maniac because they think he wants them to say "prayers" to him.
Actually, he has a very bad record of helping anyone. In US South the KKK was mrudering and torturiing innocent people - no god help
WW2 the Nazis (atheists) were busily murdering and torturing 6 million people. God could not even help an innocent child. What better time for him to show himself and do at least a tiny miracle. - no god help
The list is very long and goes very far back in history. the message is always the same. god does not help anyone.

Jesus Christ is my God. When he was on earth he never took offence to anything. He did cry because he saw how people did not understand who he was or what they were looking for. If you think the bible contradicts itself then you are not reading it correctly. Jesus said you would know his people by their love for one another. He also said many will come in my name to deceive. So if Christains come off as mean and hateful then they will not be Christains. True Christains will not be offended by what anybody says because Jesus told us to bear our cross.

Yes.... I use to believe in God. Then after reading much of the bible i saw to much junk that was way to unrealistic to be true. Like people living to be 900. God would never do that to anyone and no one can do that now.

Yeah, I think he would, and I think a LOT of people would be in for a really rude awakening. Hmm, I'll have to check that out.
I am a christian, but a lot of the reason that some people have with church goers is the exact reason why I stopped attending, and spend my hour daily communing with nature. 'That' is my church.

God is quite proud I am sure. Proud that he is the single most talked about, argued about, and worshiped being in all of human history. The name Jesus and who he was is known and spoken more often then any other name in our history.
2,000 years after Jesus, this is still so. Our calender is based on the life of Jesus. Holidays are given to the working class people in his honor. etc.
God is proud of his creation, no doubt.
