I accepted Christ as my savior at age 10. I was 16 when I was baptized. I wanted to make sure I fully understood what I was doing. I don't believe being baptized as an infant is a reflection on a change of life, but a dedication. I also do not beleive baptism is required for salvation, but we are told to do so.

I was not Christened, which I believe to be a ceremony introduced by the church to give hope to parents, in a time when infant mortality was high. I became a Christian by my own choice aged 28 and was baptised the next year.

I was baptized when I was 14 years old and it was 23 years ago. It’s my own decision neither others nor my parents made me do it. I did it because I believe it’s the next step I had to take after learning the truth about the Bible, Jehovah God and Jesus Christ. I believe that the word “baptize” comes from the Greek ba·pti´zein, meaning “to dip, to plunge.” (A Greek-English Lexicon, by Liddell and Scott). Christian water baptism is an outward symbol that the one being baptized has made a complete, unreserved, and unconditional dedication through Jesus Christ to do the will of Jehovah God. Therefore, as Jesus was baptized to do his father’s will on Earth not to be washed out from sin, since Jesus is perfect without sin. According to Jesus in Matthew 28:19,20 anyone who wanted to get baptized must become his disciples which mean we must learn first about him then get baptized. Can babies or infants have ability to take in knowledge about Jesus? Certainly not. Even Jesus himself and his disciples or his followers got baptized when they are old enough to understand or to learn about him and his father. There is no record in the Bible that Jesus command baptism for babies or infants.

It is important to remember that baptism is not the end of spiritual progress. Although baptism is vitally important, it is not a guarantee of salvation. Jesus did not say: ‘Everyone baptized will be saved.’ Instead, he said: “He that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved.” (Matthew 24:13) Therefore, it is vital that we seek God’s Kingdom first by making it the paramount concern in our life.—Matthew 6:25-34. Baptism thus leads to a clean conscience before God.—1 Peter 3:21. it helps us to think not to live for ourselves but firstly for Jehovah God and Jesus Christ since baptism is symbolic of our dedication to them
