You've lost your "mental" virginity then?
You may be pure of deed, but you are no longer pure of thought. Jesus is very Buddhist in his teachings. Another example would be murder. Does daydreaming about killing your enemy make you a murderer? No. But it does not make you a very nice person. As a Christian he is asking you to consider right thought as well as right action. Jesus was big on intent. Remember the hand washing debacle in Mathew? Jesus was not instructing people that hand washing was wicked or that it should not be done. He was using hand washing to demonstrate that you can do the right things, for the wrong reasons. Legalism does not create good people or a a thinking, feeling, self examining society. Thus, punishment for your sins should not be your primary motivator, if you are into the teachings of Jesus.

I'm agnostic but grew up with Christian and Jewish parents. This has to with the moral agent, not moral acts.
1 John 3:15 (New International Version)
15Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.
A person who wants to kill and would kill, if not restrained by certain reasons such as fear of punishment, physical handicaps, lack of opportunity, apathy and etc., is regarded as a murderer in the sense of moral agent. In this sense, you can have a murderer without a murder victim.
A person who wills to commit murder and does so, is a murderer in the sense BOTH of having committed the act AND in the sense of the moral agent. You can have a adulterer without an adulterous affair as in a moral agent.
Virginity involves an ACT, no physical copulation has taken place so actwise the person is a virgin. However, spirtiually you can say they are not.
Don't shift the meaning of a term.

Utter nonsense. The bible was writen over 2000 years ago. Things are looked at a little different now.
I am sure some little 9-year old won't rot in eternal Hell, because some Bible flinger like you thinks that because "he spotted that woman's boobies" he will be forever damned!
He will be just fine. Lusting does not erase virginity. Get a grip!

I think you're confusing things. A virgin is a term people use to describe someone who physically hasn't had sex. Therefore, you can lust after someone, but still be technically a virgin. However, you're still committing a sin by lusting (per your Bible quotes.)

Hmm the text seems pretty self-explanatory to me, imapagan. I must comment on how very "realistic" it is for normal men to operate without lusting after a beautiful woman...Though I don't find people with sexual issues to be "normal."

LOVE is like....having affection in the direction of somone for his or her character, features, and spirit. LUST is only being fascinated in somone for SEXUAL reasons. in case you LUST after somebody, it means you like them sexually in basic terms. you may the two love and lust after somebody. Lust with the help of itself is a foul undertaking. And in marriage, love in basic terms is a foul undertaking. you like a sprint lust in marriage ;)
