Ok, I'm a 16 year old male, and last week I came out to my older brother (who is 20). He was very supportive and offered to come home for a week just to chilll with me (he is away at school). So then today, I decided I had enough of a security net (aka my brother) to come out to my mom (who is a PhD. Child psychologist.). I finally mustered up the courage, told her. She then gave me a disgusted look and then a huge smile and a hug, and then she said something to the effect of this: "You don't think I already knew that?! I'm so happy for you! and so on..."
Ok, considering she is has a PhD in psychology specializing in teens/children, it's pretty obvious that she has psychoanalyzed me to no end, I don't have a problem with it, and that would also explain how she knew. But where my problem lies is what to say to her. She (along with my dad and brother) are behind me 100%. How can I bring it up with her and thank her and my family?
