Not at all..I always feel proud when I find my children doing much better than I had been able to.It gives me a tremendous amount of satisfaction that next generation of mine is heading towards improvement, development and progress.Had it not been so , the society of today will remain stagnant or will deteriorate, which we don't like to see.The next generation has to be more intelligent and should be able to perform better than the earlier generation.......that's true development and growth in knowledge and in overall improvement of a society.

Yep, The first one I programmed was an IBM-360: Could run two programs in background and one in foreground simultaneously (wow!); used a bunch of reel- to -reel tape recorders, 2 or three huge disc drives and the card reader.
The thing took up an entire room and didn't have anywhere near the capabilities of my personal, cheap desk top. That being said, I'm computer illiterate with the personal computers. Because some youngsters pass me on the highway, I don't feel like the idiot because I only understand speed limit signs. And the more knowledge my kids have to live in THEIR WORLD today, the more relieved I am that they have what it takes to survive..

We have had a computer since the early 80's and both worked with computer ar our jobs. At that time computers being fairly new, management paid for computer classes for all employees.
I have been retired for 11 years and my computer is my life.
We have bought, Adobe Photo Shop Elements, Adobe Premiere , U Lead Photo Explore, U Lead Photo Impact, 3 print programs, Power Point and several other programs. With these programs we can almost create magic with photos, slide shows, videos, greeting cards and professional wedding invitations, etc. etc.
We both love challenges, so we just plain have a lot of fun and
our grand kids call us the Computer Guru's.
There is no doubt about it, we do learn a lot from them and everything comes easier and faster to them and I'm glad we able to interact with them on this level.
My husbandd has continued to take computer classes periodically and then teaches me.
My husband wrote his first novel on a word processing type writer. We have came a long way and have a lot of fun being creative.

Nope I don't feel like an idiot at all that my daughter knows more about electronics than I do. When I need help with my computer, I know that she can help me out. I am glad that she is as smart about it as she is. Other wise it might cost me a lot if I had to go to someone else.

I used to, but have gotten fairly proficient with computers now, as I use them at work also...but now the rest of those electronic gadgets? NOT!...lol
Well - change that...my DVD unit is much easier to operate than my VCR was...
BUT I have not a clue about IPOD's, Wii, and all the rest of that stuff...and in fact, unplugged [inadvertently] a couple leads on the back of my TV/Digital Cable Box and now can't figure out where they went so living room TV is not working...Color me 'blond' when it comes to that! lol

No Shirley I don't. It is never too late to learn and knowledge is very powerful! The word knowledge literally means "Science" and it takes a lot of science to use a computer or understand any kind of electronics! Glad you're back! CJ

I don't mind that I turn to my Son to help me as I never used a computer in my life until 2yr ago, but what I do feel stupid for is when he has to show me the same thing twice..lol.. I also just keep searching for the way to do things, it gets very frustrating at times, I also have a wonderful friend on 360 who helps me out a lot, she is so patient with me, I must drive her nuts

Yes my 10 year old daughter can make all kinds of graphic art prints and makes her own books on Microsoft Word, it's mind boggling. But I do still know more than her on life and always will have that edge.

It's my grandchildren who know more about electronics than me but they would, because they are growing up with it, whereas, I didn't. We didn't have all these electronic things back when we were growing up in the '50's & '60's.
