Shouldn't god have used his time on earth more wisely? Why would god need to become wise enough to preach about himself?

For example, I used to hear what I thought was my dad standing right next to me having a conversation with me. However no one was there. That has happened to me, thinking I've heard him, many times, but he would be in another part of the house entirely. I have had it happen with a ton of people, even when they weren't in the same building as me at the time.

I've also heard my name being called several times while listening to a random music cd of all things. When I played it back to determine if I was just hearing things, it was always in the same spot.

What would cause these types of thing to happen? Do the spirits just have fun with it like anything else?

When you go to the zoo and look at an ape it is 100% ape! and when you look at yourself you are 100 % human, right? If evelution was true what happend to the creatures who are in transition? say 90% and and 10 % human and so on. Remember evelution is supposed to go on forever!

Can you tell me who mihgt be that one powerful enough who could have stopped the ape to human evelution abruptly and killed off all the creatures in transition?

I overheard my husband and one of his friends talking on the phone. I couldn't hear what my husband's friend was saying, but based on what my husband was saying I could tell how the conversation was going. My husband's friend was talking about some girl he is taking on date or something. Then I heard my husband say "Well tell her you'll pay for dinner and she can pay for the movie". Is it me or is that just plain cheap? Sad thing is, when I met my husband he wasn't financially able to take me anywhere so we rarely went on dates. Three years later that still bothers me, so when I heard him telling his friend that I thought ... what a cheap ***.

His friend is 38 years old, single, no kids, without a woman and he wonders why.

If these people are professionals why should anyone doubt them? If you are doubting them, on what basis are you doubting them? Do you know something that they don't know? If you doubt them because of a gut feeling, what is giving you that gut feeling? Why is your gut feeling more right, in comparison to years of education, training, and experience?

I know the general jist of things when it comes to Scientology. I know that Scientologists believe humans should try to neutralize "thetans" which are phantom souls of long ago blown up humans or aliens attached to our bodies so we can lead the most rewarding and happy lives possible. My question is do Scientologists relate to aliens and are on "their side" so to speak or are they against them. Do they think that aliens are trying to hold humans back and are enemies of humans. (Xenu, who came to Earth to blow up the humans...or was it aliens...he was from outer space making him an alien. So since Xenu has caused these problems to humans it would mean that Scientologists see aliens as the opposing force, right?) I am asking because there are so many jokes saying that Scientologists are aliens and space cases and whatnot but I think people have misunderstood the whole concept...I think they are anythig but alien worshippers but see aliens as "the devil."

Before the European's brought religion American Indians spent 100's of years worshiping everything from Demigods to the Sun. They even sacrificed people in the name of their gods, these people where born into this religion so they where ignorant of Christianity. Sooo....did they all go to hell?

Obviously, this is the bulk of "Family Dining" restaraunts... Most Christians have no problem eating at these restaraunts, although there are undoubtably some exceptions. So if it is ok to frequent the establishment as a customer, is it also allowable to work as a waiter/waitress?

Ok...so 7 of 9 (a Christian) said the following:

"Being saved means that I will see my loved ones in heaven because I get a "get into heaven" free ticket. and anyone else who is in my family gets into heaven as well to..."

How does that make sense? "I believe in Jesus so I get into Heaven and so does everyone else in my family."

do Catholics believe the Eucharist is truly the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ? Is it true that after the priest pronounces the words of consecration during Mass saying, "for this is my body," the substance of the bread changes into the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, though the appearance remains the same? If this is true, then the consecrated hosts inside the tabernacle need to be reserved with dignity and reverence, for Jesus Christ is truly present.

Religion divide us .....cause war......sufferings........sometime even make you sacrifice people you love deeply ( I laugh and feel pity when i hear someone said he/she is religion X and me am religion Y ..can we marry..will it work....).....The religious books are destroying the society many people refer to do it harm....these books are just a fiasco with lot of inconsistencies.....not to mention it they (religious books) has copy from old civilization (Sumerian)

*I work at a call center. A group of us always sit together, & while not taking calls we talk mostly about our love lives, some drama going on at work, juicy college drama-hehe. Anyways out of no where my friend Katie started talking to a co-worker (Aleigha) about the other night she & I hung out. My friend Katie; co-worker Cassie & others went to a lounge. At that lounge my friend Katie got in a religious debate with a friend of a co-worker's, I also debated. Katie was summarizing the story to a co-worker named Aleigha. Out of nowhere Cassie butts in & snaps, saying one things she does not talk about is religion, maybe politics, but religion can get nasty. She was already aggravated from a phone call. Our mutual friend Katie told her she did not see something wrong with that, I then told her it's not the government who started AIDS, Cassie said they did. Then she snaps "I don't want to talk about it." But no one invited her in the 1st place. Whats the big deal?...

I can understand objecting to being preached at in Science & Mathematics or whatever other atheist havens there are on this site, but why do you frequent R&S, where you know that the most ammount of Christians post on this site, and then complain about being preached at, instead of staying in categories like S&M where you belong?

when i was a child i would never swear at my parents still wouldnt ( its called having respect ) so why do teenagers now think its ok to tell their parents to go away ( but not so polite ) when you bring them up the same way your parents bought you up
