I can understand objecting to being preached at in Science & Mathematics or whatever other atheist havens there are on this site, but why do you frequent R&S, where you know that the most ammount of Christians post on this site, and then complain about being preached at, instead of staying in categories like S&M where you belong?

Atheists in here are more obsessed with God then most Christians. It really is quite fascinating...
It makes you wonder if some atheists in here are the next C.S. Lewis, Josh McDowell, or Lee Strobel. It is really kind of exciting to watch God draw them to Himself...
How phenomenal that God demonstrates His love to us in this fashion: while we were yet sinners Christ died for us!
Can you believe these words of the Gospel?
I mean...for a "righteous" person...someone *might* dare to sacrifice themselves for...perhaps a bodyguard of the President of the United States, or something...
But GOD...in His amazing, unfathomable grace, mercy, and love...jumped in front of a bullet for people like ME...people like YOU...and people like these atheists!
I was an atheist who sat down to read the Bible and prove it wrong...! Can you believe it?
Not only that...to prove His love, mercy, and grace as that much more glorious, He saved the worst sinner! (See 1 Timothy 1:15)!
This is truly hard to imagine...
The very people that mock God...that ridicule God...that tear to piece His children...spit on Him...blaspheme Him...and even deny His existence...and compare Him to a flying spaghetti monster....
...are the very people He sent His Son Jesus Christ do die for!
Who can comprehend such grace?
Repent and believe, my former atheist compadres!
Most of you already think you are better "Christians" than people like this asker. You hold him to a higher standard than other atheists...who are "allowed" to ask questions like this...and get pats on the back for making "funnies".
So, fine then...be even more "holy":
Believe...and you will see things you can't even imagine...
You will feel abounding love, joy, and peace that you have never felt possible...
You will forgiven of your sins...and clothed in the righteseousness of Jesus Christ, Himself.
Indeed...repent...or you will perish.
You have been invited...and you have been warned.
May the Lord have mercy on your soul...and give you strength...and reveal Himself to you, as He graciously did to me.

I think your question is a good one, but you should have known how they would answer. They will say they have a right to, and they do, but why they want to is the question. And some will say because it is fun to make fun of us. But you are right, as long as they come in here, they are going to get preached at by some, and get answers they don't like by others. They love complaining about being preached at evidently, because they keep coming back for more. But I will say, there are some atheists who are very respectful with their answers.

very good point, but none the less, I'm not whining about all the trolling the artiest are doing. and to be honest, I think they like the adrenalin rush they get by mockery, as they don't know the joy of the feeling you can have by God living in a Christian.
after all, we are on a winning team, read the end of the book.

2. S&M, eh? Well, to each his own. I always thought the prurient lewd, vulgar, and distasteful. Perhaps your sex life is so unsatisfying you need to press your nose to other's bedroom windows *yeech* but don't project your own deviances (s&m) onto those your fear.

4. As for the Science & mathematics category, science certainly, is beyond the fundamentally religious theocrats of all religions. You seek to tear it down --with good reason: it has made your superstition ridiculous.
5. Religion has caused and continues to cause more grief, bloodshed, human misery than anything is history. (For some of us, the desrie to know truth is compelling it itself.) For that reason alone it should be fought. It is based not only upon willlfull ignorance but fear. Great fear naturally becomes hate. As a child of 4 I was appalled by the immorality of the christian god. As an adult I see your egomanicaly jealous ('prove i'm the ony one, again!'), vicious, savage, depraved patriarchal sky god --and his demigods-- as repulsive. Humankind seems unable to create a god with morals beyond the most contemtible of us. Perhaps a morally worthy god wouldn't inspire fear so wouldn't last...

I am glad that they are here but it doesn't make any sense to me either for them to complain about being preached to.It's like going to the garden section and telling them that you don't want to hear about flowers.

So they can show off their superior intellect...ha You know, I have an atheist uncle. He was in the military for over twenty years. I have never met a more arrogant, self-righteous person in my life. There is no reaching him because he cannot be wrong. Atheist worship their brains and as a result, they become stupid.
They don't know anything but try telling them that.

The fact that you consider Science and Mathematics an atheist haven kind of says it all.
An assault on reason and logic is occurring in this country by fundies who are praying upon fears about change and uncertainty. People fear a future that they see looming, one where the economic prosperity that they grew up with has been squandered by Bush Jr./Fundy#1's horrific economic mismanagement, and they feel a need to respond.
Besides, the topic is "Religion and Spirituality", not "Religious Only".

Let's see, as atheists, we're not here to be preached at. We're here to discuss our belief that you're delusional. Maybe even some of us are actually searching for a spiritual path that doesn't include a creator or any god for that matter. Whatever it is, your preaching is only fodder. Sometimes, it's just a speedbump - a slight inconvenience. But for you to assume that the R&S section is for preaching is kind of ignorant.

I didn't see the asker saying that you didn't have the right to be here. He is simply asking why whine about being preached at when you know it's called R & S. Like going to a chinese food restaurant then complaining they are trying to shove Chinese food down your throat. The asker is simply saying YOU DID SEE THE SIGN ON THE RESTAURANT didn't you?
