Now take the word you want to calculate and write it down, now place the number for each letter under it, add it up. either you can use that total given, or add the total into a new total.

The original languages the Bible was written in were Hebrew and Greek. As far as I know Greek and Hebrew are the only two alphabets where EVERY letter has a numerical value, and they actually used the letters to write all their numbers.

And in BOTH Hebrew and Greek "Caesar Nero" adds up to 666.

Incidentally, regarding the '616' reading someone mentioned here, '616' only exists in a very few, and inferior manuscripts. It is almost inconceivable any real scholar would ever accept the '616' reading when some 99.9% of ALL AVAILABLE MANUSCRIPT DATA backs up the reading of '666.'
