1 John 1:7: “If we are walking in the light as he himself is in the light, . . . the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.” (Thus, not baptismal water but the blood of Jesus cleanses us from sin.)

Matt. 3:11: “I [John the Baptist] . . . baptize you with water because of your repentance; but the one coming after me [Jesus Christ] is stronger than I am, whose sandals I am not fit to take off.” (Verses 5, 6, also Acts 13:24, show that what John did was directed, not to all people, but to the Jews. Why? Because of the sins of the Jews against the Law covenant and to prepare them for Christ.)

Acts 2:38: “Repent, and let each one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for forgiveness of your sins.” (Did the baptism itself bring forgiveness to them? Consider: This was stated to Jews who shared responsibility for the death of Christ. [See verses 22, 23.] Their baptism would give evidence of something. Of what? That they now put faith in Jesus as the Messiah, the Christ. Only by their doing this could their sins be forgiven. [Acts 4:12; 5:30, 31])

Acts 22:16: “Rise, get baptized and wash your sins away by your calling upon his name.” (Also Acts 10:43)

I have seen muslims claim that the comforter or helper promised was Muhammed. How can this be when Muhammed does not fulfill what was promised by Jesus. We were told the comforter would be with us always. Muhammed died and is gone. It also says the world does not see Him or know Him. Men saw and knew Muhammed. So how could Muhammed be the comforter?

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, so that He may be with you forever,
Joh 14:17 the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive because it does not see Him nor know Him. But you know Him, for He dwells with you and shall be in you.

I would like to invite everyone to share their thoughts, ideas, experiences regarding organized religion as you understand it. Which religion or spiritual path appeals to you, and why? Given the chance to choose one religion/spiritual path for all humankind, which one would you choose, and why? Can we embrace our differences and unite with organized religion in the picture? Does religion have a place in modern society?

Many thanks in advance for taking the time to share your experiences, thoughts, views, hopes and aspirations. I am anxiously awaiting your responses.

Cheers ; )

I'm gay, and I can tell you right now it's not. I wouldn't choose the DAILY hate and prejudice that goes along with this.

The Helper will come from the Father. Are Christians still waiting? Well he has been and gone. His name was Muhammed PBUH. The final prophet. The Quran was revealed to him (an illeterate man). And guess what. You guys think Jesus was talking about a ghost. Creepy

Tobacco starts out as a living plant, and is processed into a smokeable form.

Is it sinful to smoke it, or has the sin already been committed by the tobacco processing consortium who has prepared the tobacco for your use?

What about plants other than tobacco such as marijuana, opium, or jimsonweed?

was 100% human? And that all miracles attributed to him are added decennia after his death by well-meaning but over-zealous people who wanted to give weight to the idea that Jesus was the promised Messiah?

Why can't you see Jesus JUST as a great philosopher and moral leader (which I as non-believer do too)? I agree, if we all follow the Golden Rule, the world would be a better place.

There is no need to believe in miracles such as immaculate conception, resurrection etc. to get Jesus' message.

I strongly suggest you all read: Jesus for the non-religious by Bishop Spong:

Thanks and have a happy life!

Ofcourse, Jesus never asked people to worship him. That would have been blashemy against the Creator, the Lord who sent him in the first place.

Christians think that God is like human. He has fathers/ sons/ mothers.

I asked earlier today a question. It was simply: Do you think questions about JW's seem to get violations more often? Funnily enough it just got deleted for a violation. So I ask again. Do you notice that questions you ask about JW's have a higher frequency of violations than others?

Do you believe JW's are acting in a Christian manner by unfairly reporting questions that do not break the rules? Wouldn't this make them liars?
