I can't believe the number of people who think Allah is satan (or a "different master").
"Allah" derives from the same linguistic roots as "El" or "Elohim"... which is one of the Hebrew words for God, ie "Allah" is just a human designation (name) for that one Divine Being who created us all.

Mohammed G - I also believe that we are all children of God... But the Bible is pretty clear about Jesus' divine origin... throughout (from his conception to his claims at age 12, and throughout his ministry as a "prophet").
Thank you Lion of Judah for your thoughtful response. I know what you're saying... there are contradictions, but there is also a lot of agreement, too. Why can't we be reconciled?
Muslims and Christians DO worship the same God. Jesus/Jehovah is worshiped only by proxy... he is God's agent, but not his partner. He gives all the glory to God the Father (El).
His Divine Shadow - How do Muslims claim to accept the Gospels/Torah, and not comprehend the nature of Messiahship? Every prophet, including Adam, Moses and Abraham, were aware that a Messiah must come.
This is why Abraham and Moses (and many prophets in between) obeyed the law of sacrifice... in preparation for the Saviour's coming.

Anyways, I can see that my inclusive belief is offensive to both "sides." I wonder if there is anyone out there who feels that these two faiths are not so irreconcilable as they first appear....

Faith, thank you for your calm and rational answer.
There is a misunderstanding, though: believing Jesus is the Saviour, and worshiping him as God are two different things. I worship God, and thank Him for giving us a Saviour.

EAC, I think your answer makes sense... that's how I see it, too (more or less).
However, I believe that when Jesus cursed the tree this was a great example of his divinely given power... how would the tree have withered and died if he had only commanded it as the son of Mary? Mary had no such power.

Allah is God and he is the only savior in islam , jesus is a man and we do not worship him , worshipping him or any other than God is considered polytheism and that is forbidden in islam to do so. the only one who deserves worship and prayer is God, prophets of God may ask for forgiveness of their own people on judgment day but only God makes the final decision .
so far i don't know any group that does that but the shiites ( iranian version of islam) have similar polytheistic beliefs, they as well think their imams have special influence on God so they have special prayers for them but not for prophet jesus . that's why the majority of muslims the sunnis don't believe in it because we only pray to one God and only ignorant haters of islam call him a moon God because we don't worship a moon or a sun or any idols only God the creator of all.
this is a summary of what we believe, i don't think you'll find the group you are seeking in islam.
zero d also gave an answer which muslims agree on about jesus , we are waiting for his return .

As a muslim we believe in God. The Holy books Torah Palms,Gospel and Quran. We believe in all of God's prophets and Mohammed (pbuh). The reason why Muslims cannot believe in the Bible is coz it is not the tru word of God. It has been changed over the years which does not make it authentic, there are many contradictions in the Bible which have been made.
Does the Bible exist in the original form anywhere on earth? (No)
Why does the Catholic Bible has seven (7) more books than the Protestant Bible?
Why do these two Bibles have different versions of the same books?
And what about God?
How can God create Himself?
How can God be a man?
How can a man be a God?
How can God have a son?
The Bible says "Seth (is) the son of Adam" and that"Adam is the son of God." [Lk 3:36]
Can't God just forgive us and not have to kill Jesus?
And what about Jesus?
Jesus did not even carry the cross -- Simon Cyre'ne, a passerby did! [Mk 15:21]
Jesus of the Bible was NOT on the cross for longer than six (6) hours -- NOT three days -- (from the 3rd to the 9th hour) [Mk 15:25 & 15:33]
Jesus of the Bible did not spend three days and nights in the tomb -- Friday night - until Sunday before dawn -- is not 3 days and nights!
Jesus DID NOT claim to be God - or even equal to God!
Why is Trinity not in the Bible?

YES ! Our loving and merciful Creator Father God Jesus Christ does not care if you call Him Allah or any other names for God in spiritual sincerity. All prayers by all humans to any names of God go first to our Eternal Sovereign Savior God and Friend Jesus Christ. He then perfectly decides if any other Agents of God also get your prayer or worship or petition.
"Is a Rose, by any other name, less a Rose ?"
Today on earth there are some groups of "Chrislams" who combine Christianity and Islam. One is in Lebanon, others are in Africa. This trend will continue to grow. If some Christians will allow themselves to be called "Judeo-Christians", then why not have also "Islam-Christians" or "Islam-Judeo-Christians" ? Add as many names as you want ! The only requirement is a belief in Jesus Christ as our loving Creator God and merciful Savior, and that He is here Teaching and Guiding us in Spirit ! You don't have to be a church member. "Priesthood of all believers." There are no intermediaries between our Creator Father God Jesus Christ and you. Some day, more spiritually wise human sons of God will give all the "Temple Tycoon" up-and-out preachers "the boot" from any ecclesiastical authority. Spirit-led lay volunteers will work for free and do a better job in their homes as well as some in churches.
Why embrace only "both books" ? You are free to embrace 5000 books if you want, and any parts that "Ring True" in God's Spirit within you. When all the continual doings and miracles of Jesus Christ are recorded; this whole world could not hold all of the many books ! See John 16:7-16; 20:28-31; 21:25

Technically yes since Allah is but one of the many names for the one god, the god of Abraham, Moses and of Jesus.
If you mean however that one follows Islam and believes that Jesus is the Savior then no, if you take the broad Christian meaning of savior.
Islam teaches that there will be a second coming of Jesus just before the end of the world and he will end all wars and bring peace. So he is a savior to muslims but in a different sense.

Believing that Jesus is the "Savior" would contradict with conventional Islam, which views Jesus as a Prophet and messenger of God, but not as a part of a Trinity, nor as a part of man's salvation.
There are probably some kinds of reform Muslims who have adapted "Jesus as Savior" into the faith, and I'm sure there are Christians who's view of God is closer to the Islamic view. But as far as I know, there are no major denominations that fit this description.

Er, it's not only possible, it's mandatory.
If you believe in what God said in the Qur'an, you have to believe that Jesus the son of Mary is the Messiah.
However, as it been noted in the Gospels, there are times when Jesus is just plain Jesus the son of Mary (not divine, like when he cursed the tree) and there are also times when Jesus is the Messiah (divine, like when He gived His teachings to the Apostles).

Impossible both books contradict each other.
Allah may be the Arabic name for God but Allah is the God of the Koran and isn't the same as the God of Abraham, Moses, and Jesus.
Even though Allah is generic, they have made it specific in the Islamic religion.
In Christianity Jehovah is the OT name for God and Jesus is also God, so there are some severe contradictions between Islam & Christianity.. Like oil and water, it just won't mix.

Hi Mom!
Please consider this analyogy. I don't know if you are familiar with Michigan, but we have huge lakes sorrounding us on every side. They look like inland oceans from the shore.
A friend of mine came to visit the Mackinaw Bridge which connects the peninsulas. He was amazed by the water and the view. At the bridge, The land is narrow and you can see Where Lake Huron meets Lake Michigan, 270 degree view of beach head.
It's really a beautiful sight and my friend was mezmerized, trying to get his head around the idea of all this water being in-land.
So we were trying to help him understand by explaining the geography, How lake Huron was on the east side of the peninsula and lake Michigan was on the left.
So this guy was from California and a little Ditzy, and he asked us 'How do you keep Lake Michigans water from mixing with lake Huron's. How do you keep the water separte and how does the water know to stay in it's own lake.
Can you see the analogy here? Stop trying to name the water and just appreciate it's beauty and wonder Let it be just that.

As a muslim, we MUST beleive in all the revealed books from God. This includes the Gospel. We beleive Jesus was an important Prophet sent from God to the lost children of Israel.
Jesus was NOT the biological son of God. ALL RIGHTOUS MEN ARE CHILDREN OF GOD

To the extent that Allah is another name for the God of Abraham it is certainly possible but unlike America where groups like "Jews for Jesus" are tolerated most Muslim countries are not so tolerant.
