what is your enterpretation on the label, "emo"?

i'm just wondering..
some people hate them for no reason at all.
i just want to know why.

well if anyone truly hates anyone else, then that says lot about their character. and hating on the basis of a "label" is a bit ridiculous if you ask me. emo is originally short for "emotional" and im emotional, but people wouldn't neccessarily call me emo ya know.. emo is like a way of life i guess. and has transformed from "emotional" to short black hair, tight pants, black nails, boys kissing boys, and hawthorne heights.

that's what i think.

people are people though. and i have love for the human race as a whole. GO HUMANS! lol (:

I don't know what emo is. It has so many different meanings to so many different people that it's difficult to say. Ask kids who identify themselves as emo and it's apt to change too, depending upon if they're gay or str8. Never ask anyone over 30. They don't have a clue about anything going on now-a-days, and can only offer an opinion, usually the wrong one. They're the ones who hate without reason simply because someone happens to be different from themselves and doesn't fit into a nicely wrapped package or readily identifiable category, so they create one and call it Bad.

The word 'emo' means emotional.Some more than others.Infact they're so emotional that they get carried away with being so disgruntal and depressed about it that they wear depressing colors,or anything else that reflects their inner feelings.I don't HATE those people,I just feel that they need to buck up and face the fact that this world is unfair.I pity them for being so self-centered too.The reason people hate them so much is that they're so different,they wear black,and act weird.People like that,*I think* need to be left alone.

I tend to like emo style. Their music is irksome - pop-punk crap made for no reason other than money. I find their "I'm so depressed" attitude irritating; first, Goths have been doing that since at least 1978, and second, emos do it for attention. I've known genuinely depressed people and I've know emos. Emos are making it up to be "interesting," just like goths pretend to be arcane and mysterious to be "interesting."

I dunno, I like Emo fashion, but somehow the rest of the aesthetic doesn't appeal to me. I don't really hate them, I just think they're a kinda lousy trend that'll disappear in the next few years.

Um i think emo is a state of mind.
I personally don't have anything against emo's unless they use it for attention
emo just meas emotional
I do consider myself emo.
But i dont cut myself, i dont act like the whole world is out to get me, and i dont wear only black.
emo is a personality, and people only hate "emo" people who make their problems everyone else's

A emo is someone who's had a hard childhood and is very depressed.This causing them to be hated as people think they are doing it only for attention.Emos still smile laugh and have fun and not all emos are bi and not all of them cut their wrists.Emos hair covers the eyes as they dont want any one to see them as its to upsetting.

I know emo means emotional and it's a genre of music, lol.

but for people, i always think of kids who just want to be sad and depressed even though there's nothing wrong in their lives. They just want to be sad even though everything is great and they don't even have any real problems, so i guess that is pretty annoying

emo is emotional and i think that is isnt good to cut ur self but some of my freind are or used to be emo so i dont hate emo's but i could just never cut my self and i couldnt ever hate my life that much!

I dont hate "emos" i just think they keep to themselves alot and that they have sweet hair styles!!
