I mean all christians give a similar response mostly but the outsiders(another good book) still think the read it right even though it is our book. Why? Like when it says that all of Jezebells children will be slain, it realy means all of her followers will go to hell.

If the Christian god is a personal god, why is there so much disagreement amongst his followers? There are many Christian sects and denominations and all of them claim to be Christian and, at bottom, followers of Yahweh. However, they all disagree with one another. There is even extensive disagreement with members within the same denomination regarding what they believe god does and does not want...

Granted, the bible may be inspired by god, even if it was not directly written by god, so there is room in the written word for human error and misunderstanding. However, if you are in direct contact with god, why is he/she telling you something different than your fellow followers of Christ?

Why is Yahweh, the personal god, so unclear and seemingly contradictory?

I ask because I would have thought that if you lived a very good, honest, decent life - like many people of all religious and non-religious backgrounds do - that if there turned out to be a different God to the one you were expecting, you would still be accepted into heaven because you led a moral life?

However if that were the case, why is it neccesary to believe in one religion over another?
[I mean, entire wars have happened due to religious differences right?]

Or why is it neccesary to believe in a God at all, as long as you lead a good life?
[I say this because I know some religions believe it to be their place to try and introduce/convert you to their religion - Jehovah's Witnesses at your front door for example].

hey guys, just wanted ask you some questions on bar mitzwah. these questions are directed to jewish people who have witnessed or have had their bar/bat mitzwahs.

1) what are the preparations that your family made for the success of your bar/bat mitzwah?
2)is having your bar/bat mitzwah special or important to you?
3) is it mandatory to have a bat/bar mitzwah?
4) can you describe the ceremony? Do you feel any different after having your bat/bar mitzwah?

you don't have to answer ALL of these questions...just a few or even one, it doesn't matter.

I really think that legal action should have been taken against the Westboro Baptists long ago. What really sets me off is the documentary on the BBC, entitled The Most Hated Family in America. In it, Shirley Phelps-Roper broadcasts her young( about 5 year old) son chanting "god hates this fa.g nation",etc. This pisses me off even more than the funeral protests. Not only are they actively poisoning America, they are now poisoning the future generations of America!

And the funeral protests are ridiculous. These troops gave their lives to protect the Phelps' pathetic hides, and yet they are dishonoring the deceased that fell for their country.

I am religious, however, I think that legal action should be taken against them. I mean, come on. How in the hell can chanting "God hates fags" and "god hates America" be protected in the First Amendment? Freedom of speech is not unlimited.

At least I'll have consolation knowing that every last one of the WBC's members will burn in Hell.

Hi, My name is Salavain! I was wondering why so many people on R&S believe in demons.

If any of you have payed any attention to any of the 'Demon' based questions. You would have noticed that many people have said over and over again that there is no such thing as 'demons'.

My question is:
WHY DON'T YOU BELIEVE THEM?
