You betcha, Wickwire! I think I get more excited over Christmas than the kids do. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving.

About 2 1/2 to 3 weeks before Christmas (we put up a live tree), then take it down New Year's Day (it's the only resolution I seem to keep, lol).......Happy Holiday!!!!!!!!

Well, we usually put ours up about a week or two after Thanksgiving. The way I see it, it's a lot of work to put it up a decorate and all that jazz, so we might as well enjoy it for a while right? And I really like Christmas lights! We take it down a few days after.

Well traditionally, we put up a tree the second weekend of
Dec. As if we put up one earlier, it's too dried out and is a
fire hazard. And it just doesnt' look pretty any longer either.
The green color dulls and the ornaments hang down further
and you have bare spots suddenly. Or gaping areas. So the
tree loses all of it's glamor and glitz, despite the ornaments.
We knew a family once in Phoenix that put up one right
after Thanksgiving, because their kids were overly excited
for Christmas. About a week before Christmas, it was brown
all the way through and so dry it barely had needles still
clinging. So they got another one put up to see them through
Christmas. But the day after Christmas, it too came down.
Their dad had already had his fill of Christmas trees for one
year LOL, and he wasn't leaving it up til New Years as I think many of us do. I didn't know it was bad luck to take one down early til reading some comments earlier. I haven't had a tree up in a couple years due to lack of space, and our going to our daughters for Christmas Eve. So I don't know how our luck held out the following year when I took ours down early. Now I'll have to see if there's any merit to that superstition
and make sure it's up til after New Years Day.

We put our tree up, about a week or two before Christmas, the same for decorations. Then we take it down the day after New Year's Day.

I'm exactly the same as you........two weeks prior to Christmas we put up the tree and stuff and take it all down on New Year's day. There is nothing worse than seeing Christmas decorations up long after New Year's day.

We start to put up Christmas decorations around December 1st...or the first Sunday in December for the Advent season. Our tree goes up between two weeks and two days before Christmas, depending on when we can all be home to pick out the tree and decorate it. We leave all our decorations up until Epiphany, January 6.

Whenever I can no longer control the wife's enthusiasm, SHE normally puts HER tree up about Dec 1 (give or take and comes down 2 or 3 days after Christmas)

Last year I couldnt wait and put it up on the 1st Dec (a real one) but it was looking half dead by xmas day so I'm going back to the 2 weeks before routine again. I also normally take ours down after new years but I think I heard somewhere once it is bad luck to take it down before two weeks after?
