There is one God and one God only; all the rest are created beings.
Saint: Saint, one separated from the world and consecrated to God; one holy by profession and by covenant; a believer in Christ.
It was not used as a distinctive title of the apostles and evangelists and of a "spiritual nobility" till the fourth century. In that sense it is not a scriptural title.
One God only:
John 5:44 "How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God?
Isaiah 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

No. But Catholics believe that their official saints can act as go-betweens and help their prayers reach God. Nothing scriptural in this belief, however.
Actually, any Christian is a saint because the word just means forgiven.

In many cases--two have been mentioned already---they replaced the local god/desses after conversion of an area by the Church. Generally some ridiculous story (cf. St. Nicholas) gets made up later to cover up the substitution.

No. Believers are saints. I am a saint. The biblical definition of sainthood is NOT limited to what the Catholic Church defines and canonizes.

No. That is the name used in the bible of those that were saved. Notice how the Epistles were often addressed to the saints in whatever city the letter was being written to.

Saints are those who have been born again, saved....those who are disciple of Yeshua, those who have trusted Yeshua as their PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOR, REDEEMER, ADVOCATE and friend!
Saints are NOT what the catholic (note{CATHOLICISM IS NOT CHRISTIANITY) church makes them out to be. The catho church has ALWAYS lifted some and put down many....this is not the attributes of CHRIST YESHUA......one is officially a saint, and a child of God....when they trust Y'Shua as their SAVIOR>\
I am a saint. PERIOD.

The Bible states that " ye are gods" but not with a capitol G. We came out of God so therefore we are spirit, which is God. He said " when a man dies the spirit of God goes back to God who gave it."
