We should be "our own best friend" and look after our own best interest ... so if one hasn't found a partner who would enhance and make life happier.... why not be self-centred and wait .... maybe people that don't hurry into a marriage until it feels "right" are more self loving, and more fair the the other "prospective mate"...

no. maybe they see marriage as a negative thing and are trying to save others from that fate. maybe they have low self esteem and don't feel worth marrying. maybe they value the contributiotns they can make to society while not shackled to another person.
who knows...

No,maybe they have not found the right person to their life.Or,maybe they have had issues with dating/their grooms.If people choose not to get married,then that is just them.But,I really doubt if it is self-centeredness =].

Some people aren't commitment minded, been through past relationship(s) that didn't work out and don't want to waste their time or maybe they don't like their options.

I don't think so. Marriage is a lifelong promise and hardwork and it shouldn't be entered into lightly. Some people just aren't marriage material.
