Yes of course ,God did,and and this is in itself a great part of belief and faith,to believe in not seen ,hidden, and what looking strange but for sake of all community e.g.if God forgave a thief, killer,or raper where are victims rights?these are reasons of punishment some says why not all time merciful,in Islam commit adultery, the so called making love, is forbidden, only with lawful partner,no reason was mentioned except it is a great sin ,severe hate from God and evil way and path ( Quran 3,22,)now look to AIDS it is ratio is the least in Islamic world or as said by others developing world and many things my friend their reasons were hidden but if true belief saved believers, find this by yourself good luck and good life.

It's already been done. Just look at Jerry Falwell and Fred Phelps.

I swear, some of these religious sects are borderline cults.

Last time I looked religious sects were sorta man made. I do not believe your question is valid. If you could have phrased it Could Satan create a religious sect....it would have made more sense.

Eh, you're speaking philosophically on an unsubstantiated idea within which there are far too many variables to even speculate on. It's an alien landscape, trying to decide for ourselves what exactly our God can and can't do if he can do 'everything.' There are as many contradictions as there are things he can do. Ergo it's pointless speculation--there's no sense in discussing what he can and cannot do much further since there have already been literally hundreds of thousands of books published on the topic.

God does not create religions. Christianity is a religion founded in the belief that Jesus was the son of God. God wants you to believe that. But God never said " I will create a religion for you."

Christianity has many sects but all believe that Jesus is God, or they wouldn't be Christian religions, would they?

Jesus did not create a religion, those that believed in him and followed his teaching did. God is the center of most religions but never created one.

God is Holy and eternal. Most religion is man-made and therefore completely inferior to His Holiness. God can never go against His own Word...His Word is also eternal and will never change. Peoples opinions change and their beliefs sometimes change...It is people that cause this "religous sect" you speak of...not God.
