My father recently passed away. My friend/acquaintance came to the funeral home and I appreciated that. This so-called friend recently met a guy on the Internet and that is all she talks and thinks about. At the funeral home, she asked me if I was dating anyone and I said no. She proceeded to ask, "aren't you even trying?" And I replied again with "No." Obviously, at the time I did not say anything because I had more important things on my mind. But I am still a little bothered by my friend's question at such an inappropriate time. She even called me a few days after the funeral ceremony and kept up with the same questions. I replied, as I have many times, even before my dad passed that I have been happy the past three years being single. I am kind of mad and have not returned her calls or emails for a few weeks. Am I being silly? BTW, we are adults, not teenagers. I am 32 and she is 27. But I feel like I am back in junior high school when she starts this dating talk.

Say that God got fed up with all of us crazy nuts, cause you know you're all just damn crazy religious nuts putting words in God's mouth. If He wanted to He can reverse His creation and forget it. Does He love me too much that He won't do this?

Same first name that is... I'm sure it's more likely in the GLBT community, and I mainly ask cause I just saw two guys making out who just happen to have the same name. Just seems a little funny if you were one of the people and it'd sound like you were refering to yourself in the 3rd person... Your thoughts?

Do you feel you have an obligation to spread your religious belief system to others? Why?

Or do you think religion is a private matter that everyone needs to decide for themselves? Why?

Is there any hope of dialoguing with other faith systems?

What, if any thing, do all believers AGREE apon?

Any thing at all?

Saving the world?

Humane rights and freedoms?

World peace?

Relieving poverty?

Love?!?

I've been thinking how the world is at the moment and wondering is it getting worse or is it always at constant level and the variables just change? I think if you speak to most people they would say yes the world is getting worse but when you think that in the past centuary there were two world wars are we worse off now or as I said before is the world at a constant level and the variables just change (eg. there is no world war but we now have extereme terroism and global warming etc)
What is your take on it???

Be specific. Stay coherent. No bible quotes please.

And just 1 piece is all I need. The 1st responder to show evidence that hasn't already been thoroughly refuted by those who actually study the natural world (scientists, biologists, anthropologists) will win...I kid you not... 10 POINTS & 5 STARS!

I prayed for God to reveal Himself to me and I had a dream that God told me that if I prayed facing the North Pole every night and refrained from hitting people in the nose and to only eat vegetables, that I would get to live forever in an exact replica of Disneyland - blissfully unaware of evil and sorrow.

If I was mistaken - even though have several confirmations - is it still better that I believe it because it makes me a good person and if my faith is correct (because I don't believe this - I KNOW IT!!!) How can I deny my own heart? - then I have won everything - If I am wrong, then I have lost nothing.

I don't know a whole lot about their specific beliefs, but from the ones I have talked to I get the impression that they don't believe in Christ the same way as most Christians. Can anyone shed some light on this for me (preferably a Jehovah's Witness.) Thanks

What does this mean?Death penalty?(1) “What is the Bible’s Definition of Sin?”
One of the central points of the Bible is the difference between what God approves, and what He does not. There have been endless dissertations about the definition of sin—what is and is not sin. Yet the Bible defines sin with surprising simplicity: “Whosever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law” (I John 3:4). When someone transgresses or breaks “the law,” he is sinning.

When one breaks man’s laws, he earns a penalty, such as a fine, jail time or even (depending on the seriousness of the crime) death. Likewise, when we violate the laws of God, we earn a penalty: “The wages of sin is death” (Rom. 6:23). Wages are something you earn as a payment for what you have done. If you sin—break God’s Law—you will die (Ezek. 18:4, 20).

Suddenly, knowing what constitutes “the law” is of extreme importance! Again, we must allow God to explain what He means through His Word—not the reasoning or opinions of men

Seriously, creationists, you ask questions that take 60 seconds of research, tops, to refute. Since you are here on the internet with access to the same resources as the people that refute your regurgitated arguments, this kind of ignorance is inexcusible.

So my question is--since genuine ignorance is not a sufficient--what /is/ your excuse for this??
