Seriously, creationists, you ask questions that take 60 seconds of research, tops, to refute. Since you are here on the internet with access to the same resources as the people that refute your regurgitated arguments, this kind of ignorance is inexcusible.

So my question is--since genuine ignorance is not a sufficient--what /is/ your excuse for this??

I prefer to do my experimentation in the laboratory; not in my mind. Science relies on evidence, not intuition.

Then I guess you'll be changing your beliefs when you do the research and discover that EVERY fossil is a transitional fossil; and that the beginning of life has NOTHING to do with evolution.

How long until we scrap the theory of gravity or atomic theory, would you say we have?

The least you could do is take some time to learn about science before you go strawmanning it.

I did do the research

I found the theory of evolution an inadequate explanation.
Too much guess work, and the main two points that I disagree with are
No transitional fossils
No reasonable explanation on how life initially began

Not being insulting to your belief or sarcastic, believe as you will.

That's just my opinion

Sorry there has never been a transitional fossil found. A fossil of a creature that was in the middle of evolving into ANOTHER SPECIES,

It looks to me like far more people ASK questions than they answer. It's like, they think the big points come from ASKING a question, rather than answering them. Now, most of the time, when a person ASKS a question, they already know the answer, or they don't really care about the answer, especially here in this corner of the R&S catagory. So they dont have any need to do any research. The other side of that coin is, to be able to give an ANSWER, a person has to be willing to HELP others. As you've no doubt observed, the religious travelers in YahooLand are usually not inclinded to actually HELP anybody, prefering, instead, to engage in a little drive-by-hit-and-run type writing style that gets attention, gets a bunch of irate comments, gets people all upset and, if they're really lucky, they get a nasty email from the YahooWebPolice.

First, you have to remember who is here. Probably 90% of the members here are in the 13-15 age bracket. You're talking to a bunch of little girls who go to church. No, they don't know how to do the research, and no it doesn't mean a whole lot when you refute them.

Second, this is a sword that cuts both ways. There is little of substance here on either side of the argument. This isn't the place for in-depth discourse. The comments here are of the quality of "If God is so smart why did he create dumb people" and "If evolution is true why are you so ugly".

You can't come here and expect either to be challenged or to be able to find satisfaction in refuting the best arguments of the other side. Sit back, post a few smart alec answers and have fun.

The thing I find the hardest is filtering through all of the crap science throws out there. Scientists are constantly in competition with each other to discover the next new thing and it is published before it has made it through any serious scrutiny. And people assume that if it is in a journal then it must be true, accurate or reliable. There are monsterously huge questions that create huge problems for evolution and big bang which also explain why they are still in that "theory" phase. How many years does something have to stay in the theory phase before it gets scrapped?

as an ex-creationist turned evolutionist i think i can shed some light on this question for you.

its basicaly fear of questioning ones beliefs. i know in my case i tried like hell to stay away from evolutionist facts, but not because they hurt creationism, but because they hurt my faith in god......yep you heard me right.

creationism is nothing more then a tool for some, a logic behind the reasoning. by questioning that logic the creationist is not only attacking creationism but also their own belief system. this is very hard to do and in some cases emotionally painful.

it hurt like hell for me at the begining, but you get used to it, after awhile i almost enjoy being proven wrong, it allows me to grow more as an intellectual.

the bible has been tested and proven time and time again since the dawn of time...

brilliant minds in science and in law have put the good book to the test and showed it to be what it claimed.

so there is no hard evidence for the creation...nor is there evidence for a big bang, or ape to human evolution

thats why we tag them as theories, and not facts

takes faith either way maestro, as it is written

you have faith that your ancestor was a rock? then a monkey?

ill stick with the scripture, i dont have that much faith

Exactly! The answers are there, The problem seems to be that they limit their research to Creationist only web site's where they get told exactly what they wanna hear.

Well, where did the first grain of rock come from? I believe in creation and evolution and the bible story goes beyond 7 days. Research the bible and you'll see what I mean.
