MOST OF the Nazi leaders considered themselves not merely Christians but instruments of God's will http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1058/is_16_121/ai_n8702389

Nazi Protestant Christians had two great heroes and role models. The first was Jesus Christ, whom (following the English fascist Houston Stewart Chamberlain) they believed to be the first and greatest Aryan aim the first and greatest anti-Semite. Most of the Nazi leaders worked the cleansing of the temple into their discourses at some point, and they were ingenious at giving some of the parables an anti-Semitic slant. The other great hero was Martin Luther; whom they saw as the first and greatest German.

The Nazis may have tried to use Christianity as a cover from some of their ideology, and some may have adhered to a convenienty twisted and unbalanced Christian faith, but there is no way that Naziism can be regarded as an authentic expression of Christianity. Before the war, the Pope specifically condemned the rise of extreme nationalism in Germany in an encyclical, "Mit brennender Sorge" which, to the fury of the Nazi leadership, was read out in every Catholic church in the country. And the true attitude of the Nazis to Christianity is shown by the number of believers who they killed in the concentration camps (eg St. Maximillian Kolbe, St. Edith Stein).

In Germany at the time, people were either Lutheran or Catholic but religion was part of the culture. Religion has caused wars, slaughtering of innocent people and other atrocities because religion is man-made. Now a relation with God is something totally different. The Nazi were Christians in name only. They were under the false assumption that the Jews killed Jesus and they were led by a mad man to believe they were avenging Jesus' death. If they were really Christians they would know The Word of God. says that Jesus "laid down His life." He did that for the sins of all mankind, so in that sense we were all responsible.
The Nazis weren't Christians. They were deceived, followers of a possessed man, Adolf Hitler. He was the god they hailed.

Hello,

Not all were Christians. Hitler left the RC church at a very early age and wavered a lot saying how great it was in one speech and denouncing it in another speech. Himmler pushed for the return of Nordic paganism and Martin Bormann considered Christianity a total threat to National Socialism and wanted it eventually eliminated.

Fine bloody example of Christians they were. Please read this and ask your question again:

Matthew 7:21
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven."

How we treat the Jewish people, whether we agree with them or not, is a reflection of what is in your heart. What do you think was REALLY going on in the heart of the Nazi?

Mark 7:6
Jesus said, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of [these] hypocrites, as it is written: ‘ This people honors Me with their lips,But their heart is far from Me."

It is easier to have people commit great acts of evil, if you convince them that they are doing great acts of good. Propaganda was an amazingly powerful tool.......
