Traditionally Dec 25 was a Roman Pagan holiday. The burth of Christ was chosen to be celabrated on this day to aviod persecution. Now adays it is a commerical juggernaut allowing companies to make money. So do you celabrate the holiday in some form, gift giving family dinner etc?

If I were God, I'd have a three page pamphlet that states exactly what it is you need to do to get to heaven and what would send you to hell. An actual photograph of heaven and hell would have helped too.

Long confusing stories don't convince me of anything. I don't need to know how the universe was created. I can learn all those details in heaven.

on books that were popular one or two hundred years ago or more? Why don't they use contemporary literature that is in vogue today? Why must the continually bore the children with tripe that has no bearing on the literary market today?

Last Sunday, our Associate Pastor (Baptist) announced from the pulpit that he had run out of answers for skeptics and could no longer scientifically and historically defend the Bible.

He said that he loved us all, but (like Mother Theresa in her recent journal) has come to the inevitable conclusion that Jesus Christ never really existed, but was a fabrication.

He used to get our youth groups to be able to debate skeptics using Tektonics and AnswersinGenesis, but in his deep and scholarly studies he says that he has finally seen the truth for what it is and that he is now going to work for http://www.pandasthumb.org/ as a researcher!

He has his doctorate and can read Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek - he also has studied many original Bible manuscripts and has found that Christianity is a lie!

The congregation is in shock and he said that new technology will reveal the truth about Christianity within the next couple of years!

Where do we go when Christianity topples?

Is there a language authority, that decides how to write the new characters for the new words? are they based on similar characters for similar words? (i.e. is the new character for Internet related to the character for Computer?) how is the public educated on how to write these new symbols, if they are already out of school?

(unrelated question:) Do characters for verbs share similar characteristics, e.g. number of strokes etc? is it easy to tell the difference between a noun, verb, etc. (would the character for say, applesauce be derived from the character for apple? )

Serious replies please.
My understanding of the 10 commandments is that they were sent not as laws for us to keep but so that we COULD NOT keep them.

ie Gal 3 - Law given to be a curse.

Law was given to drive us to Jesus because we couldnt keep them.

Whats the catholic stance on that, my belief is that if we could fulfill the law Jesus wouldnt have needed to die but we couldnt so he was the one that fulfilled it.

I was raised in a Christian home, so I didn't have a drastic salvation experience, but I did notice that I could finally read and understand the Bible. It made sense, you know?

The tragic loss of Kayne West's mother from a pop star rapper is coping through his faith as well as the Osmond Family who just lost thier dad at 90.
They are a family (Huge) dedicated to each other, GOD and thier parents.
A Survery was conducted that most kids who were taught about GOD had dinner with thier parents were less inclined to be involved in drugs, violence, sexual promiscuity and were less depressed.

The trouble with the Young talent like Brittney Spears, Lindsay Lohan Paris Hilton is the total family dysfunction and lack of respect for thier parents, and the problem of not knowing how to live a GOD centered life in a materialistic world
Agree?

I am a military wife and we are currently stationed in Germany... we will be here untill 2011 and i would love to learn the language so that i can be respectful to thier culture. i also believe it would be great if my daughter could learn it from me as well as she gets older. however, the reason i havent paid for the online classes yet is because i have a two year old that needs lots of my time. i would only have maybe an hour a day free to do any online learning.... so.. my question is this.. has anyone learned german as a second language? how hard is it to pick up? how long does it usually take before you can communicate well based on about an hour a day lessons? i know that it just depends on me and i usually pick things up quickly... any tips for suggestions to help me out? or any websites that i can learn from for free? thanks to all of you

even our digital watches of today evolved from analog watches from years ago. and before those watches existed, we had other, more simple methods for referencing time. same could be said for any modern convenience we have today. there is not one invention you can think of that did not evolve from something simpler. the internet didn't happen, the automobile wasn't just made without any prior knowledge of mechanics. isn't it ridiculous to think that our bodies with all their complex, moving parts were just created without an earlier design?
