Good question .The Ancient Egyptians did have a history of making beer so within that context beer could actually be an appropriate beverage
[To anybody that I'm about to offend ,I'm sorry but this next sentence is too funny not write]
Of course if beer was offered at communion it would change things to "This is my Bud drink it in memory of me"
I will await your thumbs down
Edit
Those of you who don't think that making beer is a natural process should make a barley& water slurry and leave it alone for a week or two and see what happens

Wine is meant to serve as a symbol during communion. We are not to focus upon the wine as in itself being holy. It serves as a reminder of what Jesus had done to secure our lives in the day of judgment.

The spirit of Christmas is the spirit of giving...that's A holy spirit, yet no longer The holy spirit. Christmas is a time for assisting those with under us, of friends and family contributors or perhaps strangers. it quite is a time for going out of your thank you to do some thing effective, whether only to grin at a stranger.

beer [ale flavoured with hops] is not invented until the high middle ages. (probably on the bavaria / bohemia border). jesus would have had no access to it in first century palestine.

i'm not sure that you should be making fun of jesus this way.

i am quite certain that it is wrong to disrespect both wine and beer.
