If I were God, I'd have a three page pamphlet that states exactly what it is you need to do to get to heaven and what would send you to hell. An actual photograph of heaven and hell would have helped too.

Long confusing stories don't convince me of anything. I don't need to know how the universe was created. I can learn all those details in heaven.

Like most instruction manuals it can be daunting to try to get through it. However, there are some ways of making it more "user friendly" God doesn't expect you to memorize long passages or be a great theologian. Just read a little at a time and use a modern translation. Sometimes the old english gets confusing. If you want to know about Jesus' life and death and resurrection, they are found in the first four books of the new testament. They are different perspectives of the same time period. The Old testament is the historical period before Christ, and the letters like corinthians romans etc are letters written to advise a nacent church. I hope you do take the time to get in just a little each day. You will learn much and be blessed too.

I think if it were merely men doing the writing it would have been as you say...

The complexity that comes when you first read it..and the clarity that comes as you begin to know God are evidence of both a mind greater than Man and a mystery revealed only by sincere relationship with the Creator.

In those scriptures he's conversing to diverse human beings, at diverse situations, in diverse circumstances. as an occasion, if i exchange into conversing a pair of mass assassin, i could be in desire of locking them away consistently with out any danger of parole. In that undertaking, a "consistently" sentence could be ideal to handle the concern. yet whilst i exchange into conversing approximately my 18 month previous granddaughter, my "anger" would not ought to final previous her interest span (of roughly 2 minutes). In that undertaking, a "mercy" after a short correction could be ideal to handle the concern. there is not any "confusion" between the two verses, once you're taking a while to study the full Bible, and not only 2 sentences.

Well, because God knows that we are as little children and no matter what he wrote, we would question it, many different ways.

I can tell my kids exactly what they need to do to get to stay over at their friends house this weekend. And I can tell them that not doing it will cause them to be grounded this week and next.

But, the fact is, they will question everything I said, over and over again and each one will question it in different ways.

The bible is written so that no matter the question, or how it is presented, there is an answer that rings true , no matter how its asked or who asks it.

Placing your complete trust in Jesus' death, burial and resurrection is God's one and only means of reaching Heaven.

Jesus said (John 14:6), "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life:, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

John 3:16 & 17 are clear. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

The Bible clearly tells us how to be saved:

Romans 10:9-10 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

This is a free gift from God because He loves you.

Romans 6:23b "but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Romans 10:13 "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
