You get lots of nice answers when you post a question? I don't get many as I tend to ask a lot of imotive questions. I spell words wrong and won't use the spell check which winds some people up. I deride people and countries when I think that they are doing us down. I give the teenagers a hard time sometimes.I have never been racist or particualy PC and bad language is for the womballs. I realize some times how stupid I am. Some times I even give good advice and everybody is nice back. Are we all like that? I think it's nice that we cant see each others faces. Now then, Who shall I have a go at next? I have given the Americans and French some stick. I know, I think That I'll have an opinion on the immegrants. What do you think?

He keep saying talking about the word of God. That the people who wrote the Bible are men of God. He said the word of God is true and never be broken.

Then I joke about that the Gate and the tree could be God, and I spoke to the gate and tree and called it God. Then he said Lord forgive him for what he said.

When he about to eat, he thank God for like 10 minutes. He had got about extra 25 dollars in his checking account. So he kept on thanking Jesus and God. He kept saying thank you like these people are real. Then he says I love you Jesus, and you died on the cross for me.

We are both african americans

Then he thinks that he is going to heaven and I am going to hell after we die.

He still thinks man never landed on another planet, like the moon. He still thinks its fake.

I am getting very scared, what am I going to do? I am 22 years old and my cousin is 18 years old,

I don't really knock down any religions or specifically believe in any of them, cause any of them could be true and nobody knows for sure. but what if we just stop existing, because our physical body is what controls our emotions and feelings. when our body stops working, I would think that we stop thinking and feeling as well. and if we ARE still feeling, then i would hate to be one of the dead bodies on an autopsy table.

but anyway..has anyone else ever felt this way, and is it a painful process to realize that your close ones who die are never going to connect with you again?

My extended family has had quite a few deaths recently and we have spent alot of time at funeral homes standing over the deceased body. What an experience.

Anyway, I have noticed recently quite a few people have come into the funeral home with a camera and ask the immediate family if it is OK to take a picture of the decesed. They were given the OK in most cases.

Looking back at the funeral of my Mom and Dad I wish I would have taken some pictures of them in their casket but did not think it was a good idea at the time. Now I think differently. What do you think?

I apologise if I'm being too elaborate in my expression of vocabulary there.... but I'll try to explain in simple terms:

Christians take the contents of the bible generally as axiomatic: In other words, "original facts" to which all else is judged. They are therefore assumed to be correct in order to justify anything else.

But on what external basis are they assumed correct? What conclusive indicator OUTSIDE of the bible itself is there that what is written in the bible is undeniable truth? What is there to demonstrate that the bible is genuinely the "word of god" and not in fact a book of mistakes or even outright deception?

I have yet to meet a christian who could actually judge the bible or question it... not even in order to validate it.
Then again... many Atheists have trouble judging or questioning their own senses or reason.

What do you think an appropriate gift would be for Christmas? He doesn't like it when I get him stuff (for his birthday I got him a giftcard to Starbucks) but I think he's great and like to show him I appreciate him. Any suggestions?

i dont want to offend anybody and i know this also occurs in other religions but i notice it occur most in christians and islam but more on islam its like a 55% to 45% thing
anyway i notice the followers of these 2 religions try harder than most to recruit people into their religion if you will.....
i'm sorry and i'm not saying all of them are that way but a higher percentage of them do it compared to others,

whats your opinion and do you notice this?

I've been saved for almost 8 years now and I have never fasted......ever.

I know fasting is not really a requirement concerning our walk with the Lord (that would be legalism & works if it was).

But what is the actual purpose for fasting? Please elaborate if you would.

Thanks,

Primo

Honestly, revelation is a jumbled mess. Scary as all get out, and sounds like the ramblings of a mad man. Probably a mad man that was on hallucinigens!..why was it included in the Bible?

I'm on CANFAR executive committee at my schol - basically we do AIDS fundraisers and awareness campaigns. We have a CANFAR week in Februrary, and each one of us on the committee has to organize an individual fundraiser. I really want to do something unique and creative (No bake sales), that will bring a lot of money in. Do any of you have any suggestions? What has worked for you in the past?

Also, my principal is super-conservative, afraid of getting sued and politically correct - so nothing that she would not approve of. (She didn't approve about 1/3 of the proposed projects last year - including a bachelor/bachelorette auction, among other things)

Is biblical inerrancy simply the protestants replacement of papal inerrancy? Both of which amounts to idolatry?

The doctrine of reserve was a practice that hid certain biblical ideas from a new believer in order to not shake their faith?

Mix the two together and people over time blindly follow something that is not the original idea.

Suppose through the doctrine of reserve that contradictions or things hard to imagine were explained away or not at all?

Your thoughts?

"Black people are not racists. One needs to be in a position of economic dominance to be racist".
