I apologise if I'm being too elaborate in my expression of vocabulary there.... but I'll try to explain in simple terms:

Christians take the contents of the bible generally as axiomatic: In other words, "original facts" to which all else is judged. They are therefore assumed to be correct in order to justify anything else.

But on what external basis are they assumed correct? What conclusive indicator OUTSIDE of the bible itself is there that what is written in the bible is undeniable truth? What is there to demonstrate that the bible is genuinely the "word of god" and not in fact a book of mistakes or even outright deception?

I have yet to meet a christian who could actually judge the bible or question it... not even in order to validate it.
Then again... many Atheists have trouble judging or questioning their own senses or reason.

In a word: None.

In slightly more words: None besides parental and peer pressure.

There is no external justification for why they believe the bible to be a key source of truth. It's a matter of faith for people who believe in it. Does this make good logical sense, not really. But then again, anything that is a matter of faith really doesn't make that much sense to someone who doesn't share the belief.

No other entity besides God Himself could have spoke about things before they happened. There are too many prophecies that were given thousands of years ago that have since been fulfilled. In other words, the facts in the Holy Bible support the author who is God.

while there is little objective demonstrable proof of the events of the bible being historically accurate per se.there are a mounting number of written collaborations of new testament events as well as some heretofore undisclosed episodes from the life of jesus that tend to cast him as more human than godlike.
i tend to view the bible as a translation of people trying to put into word events they had no way of comprehending .even jesus i think was misunderstood and probably somewhat taken aback by the reaction of his contemporaries.

there is nothing outside of the bible itself which conclusively indicates the bible should be taken axiomatically. There is literally tons of observable facts that indicate the bible should be taken allegorically or not at all.

External justification: God says so. You got better than that?
