We're praying for God to bring His kingdom to rule on the Earth and His will (that all of us live in peaceful harmony on earth)... but I doubt that people who plan on going to heaven realize that.

“Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth.” (Matthew 6:10) How will this part of Jesus’ model prayer be fulfilled? Most people imagine heaven as a realm of peace and tranquillity. The Scriptures refer to heaven as Jehovah’s “lofty abode of holiness and beauty.” (Isaiah 63:15) No wonder we pray that God’s will take place upon earth “as in heaven”! But will this ever happen?
Jehovah’s prophet Daniel foretold: “The God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these [earthly] kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite.” (Daniel 2:44) This heavenly Kingdom, or government, will soon take action to bring about global peace under righteous rule.—2 Peter 3:13.
Praying for God’s Kingdom to come and for his will to be done on earth is an expression of faith that will not lead to disappointment. The Christian apostle John wrote: “I heard a loud voice from the throne say: ‘Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.’” Then John added: “And the One seated on the throne said: . . . ‘Write, because these words are faithful and true.’”—Revelation 21:3-5.

The Kingdom of Heaven, the 'residence of God' is within us (Luke 17:21). In my opinion, God is everywhere, only in a different dimension that overlaps this physical world. We can die good and go to that kingdom, or we can meditate and psychically go to that kingdom. Eventually that kingdom will replace everything of the past, erasing suffering and death. As for God's will, it's evident in Nature. He is creative and wants everything to improve. It is His will that we get better and finally qualify to be citizens of His kingdom.

We are praying for Gods Kingdom, The Holy Kingdom, that is where we go when we have Jesus Christ as our savior, and then we are praying, Let thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven, we are praying Gods will, which is always good, we are praying for Gods plans, that they carry through here, as God has them in Heaven.

It is a reminder to detach from the conditioned ego identity whose beliefs and defensive behaviors get in the way of effortless unfolding of the divine good. Thy Kingdom Come, thy will be done - the perfect divine order that encompasses all of reality.

It means that we are watching and praying for the return of our king Jesus who will rule and reign in a new Heaven and new Earth.
It means that we align our will with GOD's will as he reveals it to us.

Great question!
The Lord's Prayer further shows us how Lord Christ intends us to effectively discharge our responsibility in prayer. "Your kingodom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Jesus' counsel on how to pray illuminates a truth that we often ignore: People need to invite God's rule and power into the affairs of their lives through prayer, for if humans won't pray, God's rule and power into their circumstances is forfeited.
That thought runs counter to the common supposition, " Well, if God wants to do sometning, He'll just do it". This sorry strain of fatalism infests mosts minds. But the idea of man as a pawn moved by the Almighty at His whim is totally removed from the truth revealed in Scripture. Jesus shows us that all mankind -each human being- is responsible for inviting God's rule - i.e. His benevolent purpose, presence, and power - into this world. Rather than demonstrating man as a hopeless, helpless victim of circumstance, the Bible declares that redeemed man is hopeful and capable of expecting victory when he prays in faith. The grounds for this understanding can be found in the beginning of the Bible. It explains why Jesus teaches us to pray for the reinstatement of God's rule "on earth as in heaven"
Man's Loss. In Genesis1, the Bible states that the domination over this planet given by God to man. That assignment under God's rule was not only one of great privilege, but one which essentially made mankind responsible for what would happen on earth ( Gen 1:28 ). Unless we understand this fact, we will never really understand that most of the confusion, agony, and distress in our world today exists as a direct result of our having betrayed God's initial entrustin of earth to us. As a race, we have violated the responsibility God gave us.
This betrayal began at the fall of man. Through that tragedy we have suffered inestimable loss. Man not only lost his relationship with God, but he lost his ability to rule over the earth is completely frustrated - whenever the issue is environmental pollution or home and family managaement. And further, this lost capacity for a peaceful, healthful life has an added complication.
According to the Bible, " the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one" ( 1 John 5:19 ). Man's fall not only lost an adiministration intended for us as humankind undergod's rule, it also betrayed our God-given trust of ruling earth into the hands of the devil, Satan, the " Evil One". Since the fall, mankind has not only been vulnerable to satanic deceptions, but by our own sin and rebellion we have contributed to the confused mess our world has become. Between man's sinning and Satan's hateful quest to destroy, death and destruction have invaded every part of life as we know it - breaking relationships, dashing hopes and dreams, and ruining destinies.
God's Restoration. But when man's betrayal of God's trust turned this world over the powers of death and hell, God lovingly provided us with hope - a living option in the person of His Son. God sent Jesus, whose ministry announced the possibility of man's restoration to God's kingdom: " Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" ( Matt 4:17 ). In that statement, Jesus made it clear that the rule of God was once again being made available to mankind. No longer did any member of the race need to remain a hopeless victim of sin and hell.
Until Jesus comes again, He directed us to "occupy" ( Luke 19:13 ). That "occupation" entails drawing of the resources of God's kingdom and power, reaching into the realm of the invisible through prayer, and changing one circumstance after other.
"Your kingdom come. Your will be done on eath as it is in heaven." It is our privilege to pray this, and our responsibility thereby to exercise the beginning of our reinstatement to partnership with God, in seing the tangled affairs of this planet reversed from the fallen order to God's intended order.
Each person must decide whether or not one will draw on the resourced of Christ's triumph through the cross and learn to live in advance God's kingdom in this world. Acceptance of Christ for who He is, God, begins our participation in His kingdom ( John 3:3-5 ), and we are then called advance it, as we share the gospel of Christ with the world around us ( Matt 28:19, Acts 1:8 ). There is no more effective way to accelerate this advance than for believers to pray together.
