My 10 year old says mercy. She thinks this because there is no way the kid could have understood the consequences.

I'm not sure what I think.

The reports say "Christmas should be downgraded unless other religious festivals are marked on an even footing, a Government think-tank has said". So rather than downgrade Xmas why not upgrade Eid, Yom Kippur, etc?

I went to a mixed faith school and remember being intensely annoyed that the Jewish kids got their own special time off as well as the days enjoyed by the whole country. I also remember asking my parents if I could become Jewish too for the extra benefit.

So I'm happy to celebrate anybody's festivals. Just make sure we all get the same time off. Anyone agree?

How can fundies talk about Catholics or people from other belief systems when their own brethren are teaching that God HATES people?? Is picketing at a FUNERAL considered an act of loving thy neighbor?

The God I serve is not cruel and hateful but is merciful and loving.

*Members promised to picket future funerals with placards bearing such slogans as "Thank God for dead soldiers" and "God hates fags." *

I do not condone homosexuality but I would never spew this kind of hate and neither would God.

I'm from a reasonably rich family and I tried to be friends with lower middle-class people and have been very kind to some of my poor friends. Have offered help whenever they needed but now they are getting on my nerves.

They use my stuff at my place without permission and really causing damage to me shamelessly. I'm 21 years old... and my perspective is starting to change now, from my experience, poor or lower-middle class people are extremely annoying and opportunistic.

Those who earn annual income below $40k are extremely cunning, mannerless people. What do you think?

Be honest.

They were only expressing the hatred you have in your hearts for others, but are too limp wristed to admit, instead choosing platitudes like "Hate the Sin,Love the Sinner"

You know in your hearts that you supported their message, will you now abandon them in their time of need as this evil government persecutes them.

Do people ACTUALLY believe in this? Come on the grilled cheese Mary, or tree bark Jesus

I also remember seeing on an episode on Penn & Teller that this Hispanic woman claimed to have Jesus on her wooden door and charged people to come in and see it.

Are people really that stupid?

I am not religous but I normally celebrate Christmas.

I just want to make sure Zeus won't be angry with me.

So is Christmas ok with him?

Because only trust in Jesus can save you, and all your good deeds count for nothing ? That living a good, church-going, God-fearing, exemplary life counts for nought, that all that self sacrifice and helping people and charitable works don't mean squat and wont get you into Gods' good books, that being a Mother Theresa and dedicating your life to helping the unfortunate doesn't help you one bit come judgement day, unless you believe in Jesus alone for forgiveness of sins ? That entry to heaven is by faith alone, and not a belief that faith and good works are required ? That simply having the "belief" that good works earn you good stead in Gods' eyes, will preclude your entry into heaven ? Seems a bit unfair to me.

I had a little idea, inspired by the verse found in Psalm 141:2... I was wondering if it is possable to find a paper-like incense on which one can write their prayers and praises and then burn as an incense unto the Lord.

Is that just a crazy idea? or is it possable?

I have heard of Papier d'Armenie, but does it come in blank pages on which one can write?

It's hard to say it's racism, but there are so many borderline cases. What do you think? is it allowed?

It used to be that years ago holy days were made to be days off from catholic school so that kids will be able to go to Mass for that day. This day and age the schools are realizing that these kids are not doing that anymore so are deciding to bring back these days as part of school. All Saints Day, The Assumption.. are examples of these days.

Of course parents and kids are complaining that they want or need the days off. Do you think they should remain closed for school or have them back to school as the kids don't use them for Mass.

'Pereunt et Imputantur'

Roughly translated, 'The days pass and our reckoned to our account,'

I try to live by this, and interpret it as meaning that every day you live defines who you are, that you must live life as if each day is your last, and we may one day b eheld accountable for our actions, either by your peers or some Godly being (alter as you wish).

Cheers!
