Do people ACTUALLY believe in this? Come on the grilled cheese Mary, or tree bark Jesus

I also remember seeing on an episode on Penn & Teller that this Hispanic woman claimed to have Jesus on her wooden door and charged people to come in and see it.

Are people really that stupid?

Not stupid.

You have to realize that they don't believe these things for any real logical reason. They believe it for emotional reasons. That's why religions stress reliance on "faith" instead of reason.

So, it isn't that they don't have an intellect. They just don't apply it to religion. Instead, they rely on what they want to believe. All reason and logic falls flat in the face of the believer because it is not what their belief is based on. You have to diffuse their emotional need to believe something before they will listen to reason, logic, and evidence.

Honestly, they need to take such things out of the realm of the spiritual and make it into a category of art form, sort of like illuminated writing. I like the idea of Impressionism, but really, the impression comes from within, suggested by the murky form on the canvas (or bread, depending).

Relics are the bones and preserved body parts of so-called saints, these other things grilled cheese images of Mary etc are coincidental and about as miraculous as a rorschach blob.

Tasty lunch, if using the right kind of cheese.

Mary doesn't make personal appearances. These are frauds of the catholic cult. Catholics are not saved and are not Christians. Catholics believe a false gospel of works that leads to eternal hell (Galatians 1).

Bible teachers that said the Vatican and the catholic cult are an antichrist: John Bunyan, John Huss, John Wycliffe, John Calvin, William Tyndale, John Knox, Thomas Bacon, John Wesley, Charles Spurgeon, Samuel Cooper, John Cotton, and Jonathan Edwards

The acknowledgment of "miracles" is simply a search for Gods hand. Some people find it in funny, even goofy places. Give them credit for trying, searching.

there will always be fools looking for easy answers to spiritual questions. in an effort to have visible, tangible proof - weak-faithed individuals are susceptible to the deception.
