I check in here daily, and would love to join in more, but have been in a funk of sorts lately. The other place helps, because it isn't so limiting. Senior_YA_rejects_and_outlaws@yahoogroups.com

now it's obvious that it looks like this question is directed at believers in the God of the Bible, and it is in part....

I would also like to hear from those who believe in other gods or have other modes of spirituality.

As well, for our Atheists friends, what is more important to you, your country or your immediate circumstance (well being, where you live, personal interaction that affects your personal life etc)

Also, I'm not interested in the declaration of independance or any quotes. I am looking for a direct response from your heart, regardless of the country in which your live (I am Canadian)

It is predicted that by 2020, we will start running out of oil? The only reason there is so much attention in the middle east right now is for the oil. Why would all nations as, is predicted in the bible, care so much about all that sand if it has no more oil?

I was told an interesting thing the other day at work. I work for an organisation supporting various vulnerable groups of people(young people, domestic violence victims etc) - in the company policy it states that if a person is of an ethnic minority and are allocated a white worker, they are allowed to specify that they DO NOT want the support from a white person and they will be allocated a support worker from an ethnic minority......there is nothing in the company policy about the same rule being applied to a white client who doesnt want a black/minority ethnic worker........whats the betting that it was the other round round and it only gave a rule saying white people could refuse to have a black worker there would be uproar and racism allegations............what does everyone think?? Shouldnt we all have equal opp.'s?

Synopsis of article above: Land says there are four Abrahamic religions. First the Jewish religion, then the Christian religion, then the Muslim religion, and finally the Mormon religion.

I'm not interested in any bashing answers. Just curious about whether you think the Mormon religion should be considered a fourth Abrahamic religion, or part of Christianity, or if you're really closed minded a cult (which by the way, even the SBC has taken off their list of cults - see article for details).

Thanks.

Have you ever wrote a book ? I'm thinking that if I write a book , what I'm seeing in my mind is what I'm trying to put on paper. When the book has been finished I can read it and "see" what I was seeing during the writing.

When someone else reads my book they envision as they read, and probably come close to some of the things I was seeing as I wrote, but unless they can get into MY mind they can never experience ALL of what I envisioned as I wrote.

So, to understand the Bible we must be in the mind of God. This is called revelations...

Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong unto the Lord our God; but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

MATTHEW 16:13-19 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say YE that I am ? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto Him, Blessed art thou Simon Barjona: for FLESH and BLOOD hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say ALSO unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock ( REVELATION) I will build My church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. AND I will give unto thee the KEY of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth SHALL be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt LOOSE on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Isaiah 28:9 Whom shall He teach knowledge? And whom shall He make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

1st. Corinthians 2; 14-16 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them because THEY ARE SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED.

1st. Corinthians 2;16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that He may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

1st. Corinthians 2;10 But God hath revealed them unto us BY HIS SPIRIT; for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

This is also " The Water of the Word ". 1st John 5:7,8 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood : and these three agree in one.

Ephesians 5:25,26 Husbands, love your wives even as
Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it; that He might sanctify and cleans it with the washing of water by the Word ( with the revelations brought forth by the Word ).

Revelations 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say,Come. And let him that heareth say,Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

John 3:5,6 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit .

When I was getting into the Lord he gave me a hunger for His Word. I was obsessed.
If there was something in the Word that I didn't understand, I would immediately go into fasting and prayer for the understanding. As I was learning more and more, I came up on scripture that seemed to contradict itself. Immediately I went into fasting and prayer. It was only a few moments and the Lord spoke to me and said: " Forget EVERYTHING you have heard from preachers and teachers, and HEAR what the SPIRIT is saying to the church ". Well, it took awhile to get into the habit of hearing God instead of men, but HALLELUIAH it was worth it !!!

I encourage each of you to diligently seek the revelations of the Word !!! KNOW the mind of God.

PEACE AND LOVE in the HOLY GHOST....

I am agnostic. And have nothing against people having religious beliefs as long as they do not impact on me (that said, most of our older laws are based on religious views, so it is hard to escape)
However, according to the 2001 Census 71.6% of the UK population claim to be Christian. I don't know anyone who gets married in churches anymore, or pray, or go to Sunday Worship, or take their children to school. I only know one person who believes in God and Jesus. Admittedly, it might be the circles I socialise in, but what about work colleagues etc?
I am being serious on this one btw (I like a laugh now and then, but I want serious and intelligent answers on this one, save the mocking of me or anyone else for later)

This is the time of year I would hope that people think of those less fortunate, or think of making a donation to Sick Kids Hospitals and to charities which look for cures to all these horrible diseases out there.

I really hope that people think about what they can do in their schools, in their workplaces and as individuals to do something nice for humanity this season.

As a mother who's child was touched with cancer, you cannot begin to imagine what it's like--you think you can, I thought I did too, but you dont until you're there , and I hope and pray you never find out.

If you came to know these children you could never walk away. They do not deserve that.

Whatever the charity please give, as so many people are in need of food, shelter and certain we need to cure these children and support these families and their siblings too.

I just wanted to know how others felt about this and if you support any charities what it is you do if you don't mind sharing!

The general was confined to the military hospital for treatment of a minor malady.

For almost a week he made a complete nuisance of himself, irritating both staff and the other patients, demanding attention and expecting his every order to be followed immediately.

He was in a six-man ward rather than a private room, his meals were too cold or not served to suit his taste, the light needed to be adjusted to his demands, the nighttime activities interfered with his rest... and on, and on.

One afternoon an orderly entered the room. "Time to take your temperature, General."

After growling at the orderly, the general opened his mouth to accept the thermometer.

"Sorry, General, but for this test we need your temperature from the other end."

A whole new barrage of verbal abuse followed, but the orderly was insistent that a rectal temperature was what the test called for.

The general at last rolled over, bared his rear, and allowed the orderly to proceed. The orderly then told the general, "Stay exactly like that and don't move. I'll be back in five minutes to check up on you" and withdrew.

An hour later, the head nurse entered the room, saw the general with his bare rear in the air and gasped, "What's going on here?"

"Haven't you ever seen someone having their temperature taken?" the general barked.

"Yes I have, General, but with a daffodil?
