There is a thick brown film covering the entire thing. Should I sneak into his cubicle and wash it one day after he leaves?

Dear Mose's new friend,

You have reason to be concerned since an office space is a shared environment. That said, with the health and safety of his co-workers at stake, this individual should realize that disgusting habits and/or unhealthy behavior could potentially be harmful to others. Sure, others have suggested that it is just a coffee mug and that you shouldn’t invade his privacy (I respectfully disagree with such sentiments), but this individual’s dirty mug illustrates his general approach to life. Just imagine what else he doesn’t clean… In order to avoid confrontation, I would politely ask your colleague to clean the mug. If he says no, then I would resort to smashing the mug on his car and then eating his lunch. Smash a banana in his face for good measure.

warm regards,

Mose

Some people behave exactly as you have described.

They don't take bath saying there is scarcity of water.
They never keep things in order. There are good medicine in Homoeopathy to such bad people.

But in society, lessons have to be taught to such people. If you clean his cup with out his presence, he leaves everything like that assuming some one will clean for him.
Please invite him to your cabin, and tell him in mild and kind tone that ,it is a practice to clean and keep things in an order and passion. Let him slowly understand the minimum things he has to do. And make him do it by himself.

NO YOU SHOULDN'T WASH IT!!! I saw a piece on Oprah about this.....that brown film is harmless, and actually increases your brain power so it makes your work harder and smarter throughout the day.

I found that others were using my cup when I wasn't there which was gross so I didn't wash my cup so they wouldn't do that. Leave your co-workers cup alone!

No, leave it alone. Why let something like that bother you? Are you an office pot-stirrer? Back off the coffee cup, man!

Maybe he's in the midst of a science experiment, and you might ruin it if you washed his cup.
