A 75-year-old man goes to confession and tells the priest, "Forgive me father for I have sinned. I had sex last night with two 20-year-old girls and I had sex with each one three times."

The priest says, "How long has it been since your last confession."

The man says, "I have never been to confession, I am Jewish."

"So why are you telling me?" asked the prist.

The man says, "I'm telling everybody."

For me, I had actually been saved for a few years and it wasn't until a teacher explained the 70 weeks in Daniel and how all of the predictions had come true exactly as it was shown in Daniel. I was stunned and was like, oh my goodness, if I think there is a problem with scripture, the problem is ME, not scripture. ( I went up after the class and hugged the teacher and told him he had just changed my life!) I am learning freshly right now how TRUE God's Word is and how not a jot or tittle will fall away before its time.

What about you? Did you ever have a similar experience or did you just always believe it? :)

Does a discrepancy of four years cause a major problem for Joseph's story? It certainly does. Joseph described a 10-year sequence of events that begins with the First Vision and ends with the publication of the Book of Mormon in 1830. If this sequence did not start until 1824, there are only six years in which to fit the ten year sequence Joseph claims occurred before the Book of Mormon was printed.
In the story as it appears in Mormon scripture, Joseph says that in 1823, three years after the 1820 First Vision, he was visited by the angel Moroni. Moroni tells Joseph about the gold plates but says he must wait four years before obtaining them. In 1827 Joseph gets the gold plates and three years later (1830) publishes the Book of Mormon. However, recall that Joseph linked the First Vision to a great religious excitement in the Manchester-Palmyra area. As documented above, we now know that this revival took place, not in 1820, but in 1824.

"..I don't know you.
You don't know me.
You don't know the history I've got on these streets.
Only if you're seeing what my eyes have seen, then you'll understand..."

Time after time, well-meaning Christians have attempted to help me to see their way of belief, and overall, way of life. However, I'd like to point out: I have my own experiences, my own thoughts, and my OWN life. You don't know what I've seen, what I've done, what I've heard, and what I've said. Every little detail of my life; regardless of how small it may be, has contributed to who I AM. And a large part of who I am, is my religious belief: Atheism. I know that those who attempt to convert me mean well, and feel that what they're doing is in my best interest. However, I just wish they would consider that I didn't just pick a random decision. My ENTIRE LIFE has brought me to this conclusion. Quotes, tales of miracles..nothing will change this.
But, I'm wondering: does everyone feel this way? Do YOU?

This friend is very opinionated and against God, we've talked for about 4 yrs and his father is passing away. I always share my faith in everyday talking, no pushing. But he is very aware of my faith and how important is to me and my familia.

He point blank asked me "If there was a God, why does he let bad things happen". I know God is just and there's sin, but I need a really good response to sum it all up, any ideas?!

Has this happened to you?
Do you think they do this out of pure genetic programming?
My wife seems totally oblivious to my boiling anger, totally.
It's like she cannot resist saying something.
Do you do anything about it?

I've seen it happen millions of times before growing up. A man will be talking to someone about just any topic and his woman (girlfriend, wife, etc.) will step in and say something to cut him down. Sometimes the guy can barely say two sentences before she's doing it again and again.

I'm older now, it's happening to me by my wife (once in awhile). Men typically do not do this, because in the male world, those would be fighting words. It seems to me that the female, once away from the privacy of the home feels a certain safety in public, where she'd never get away with saying such things at home since it's rude and insulting, but the man must save face in public.

Females: feel free to add your input too; especially if you have some insight into this behaviour.

In John 14:16 - 23, Jesus says that the Father will send the Helper (or Comforter) to be with the disciples.

In verse 23, Jesus also says that both He AND the Father will come "..and make OUR home with (the believer)" (caps & insert mine).

So, according to the Bible, the Holy Spirit, the Son and the Father ALL come to live with the Christian.

Your views, please?
