There are so many "Christians" in the world today, But sometimes it is only the Radical Christians that make it into the news and get pointed out. I have heard it said from an athiest point of view "I would have became a christian if I would have ever met a christian"

It seems to me that the "christians" of the world today have been proven as hypicrytes more than proven good.

I as a christian belive this is a major problem in the world. Just a warning to my fellow christians we need to be cautious on how we talk to people. We can not be judgemental but we can not be complacent either. we need to find that place in the middle where we can live so that people see Jesus through us and not see a bunch of judgemental folks who hate everybody. because that is not what Jesus is about at all.

So my question Is How many people agree with this?

In Mark 8:31-33 Jesus talked about that he will be rejected by the elders, high priest and the scribes, how he will suffer and be killed, then Peter rebuked him as if saying this should not happen, then Jesus said to him "get behind me satan, for you are not setting your mind on God's interest, but man's". Things went according to plan so if one blamed anyone for Christ's death, he must be thinking God's so-called plan shouldn't have happen therefore he is on Satan's side?

Women get demoted for crying and getting mad. While men get promoted whent they get angry and even when they cry. Men have it made they can get away with anything but if a women did the same thing she has to defend herself and even then men still critisize them. Women have always been more harshly punished for stuff men are patted on the back for.

I have a friend that is deperately trying to push lutheranism down my throat and i don't understand it enough to shoot him down like i do to others. I need some really good convincing arguments against christanity more specifically if possible lutherans.

I am not an atheist, i just like finding fault in widely accepted ideas. aka, organized religion.
Catholics, luterans, or whatever sect you belong to, i don't want to hear i am going to hell or whatever you say to people like me, i just want people with actuall answers.

Obviously you do not agree with them, but just because a person does not agree with an argument does not mean that they cannot think it is a compelling one.

I am asking this because I am an atheist and I wanted to hear your personal thoughts on how well thought out particular arguments are and if they have given you something to think about.

Thank you for your answers.

THESE ARE THE ACTIONS AND WORDS OF THE CHRISTIAN GOD

I Sam 6:19: "And he smote the men of Bethshemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the LORD, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the LORD had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter."

Numbers 25:3 "And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel. And the LORD said unto Moses, 'Take all the heads of the people and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.'"

I Sam 15:2 "Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and mule."

Now this is goin to all the Jerry Falwell types out there on Yahoo Answers.

So your afraid for my little non-believing mortal soul right? That's the line i keep hearing, gotta save that non-believer even in spite of himself.

Have you ever thought that, well, if your dead on the money about God and he is really the way you say he is that many of us wouldn't want to go?

Check this out - Put the shoe on the other foot and thing about it for a second. What if the extreme Islamists are correct, that their God is real, and he's exactly the way he says he is - some wrathful, women must be kept down, non-believers must be destroyed angry angry angry deity?:

Would you want to end up in that "Heaven"?

Sounds more like an internment camp to me.

I would like some advice/second opinions...
Whenever I order out from Applebee's, Ruby Tuesday or a similar restaurant, I feel compelled to tip the person who bags my meal and provides the silverware. Yet, when I pick up a pizza, I never feel as though I should tip the counter person.
This is relatively the same situation - had I dined in the restaurant, I would tip, no question. Had I asked to have my pizza delivered, I would tip, again - no question.
Has anyone else run into this problem? Do you know iof a "rule of thumb" about this issue?
Many thanks! :-)

I am a recovering Catholic. I am a very Spiritual person and believe in people helping other people, not organized religion. I can't abide by a religion that states if I don't believe/follow their rules, I am wrong/sinner/evil, etc... I like most of the priniciples of Kabbalah, but I feel they always have their hand out for money. Does anyone have an idea for me to explore?

One time, a long time ago, I told God, "thanks" for giving me life. Now, why in the world would I have to repeat that every day? If I gave a friend a ride to work or something, should that person call me and say "thanks" every day for the rest of his/her life? If they did this, I would start screening calls, which is what God probably does with all these unnecessary repeated "thanks".

Christians say that God gives us free-will, but if we use it, we go to Hell!

If we choose God, we are OK... If we choose anything else, we die!

WOW! What a great GOD!
