The only way that someone says they "recovered" from homosexuality is that a. they were brainwashed by some religion, or b. they were just going through a phase in the first place and actually weren't homosexual, just curious. As for the first one, don't be one of those. No one wants to be brainwashed into being something their not, even if what they are isn't so pretty all the time. Otherwise, you'll live a highly unsatisfied life. As for the second, if you're young and this is just an occasional attraction here and there, take some time out to discover who you really are before you jump to the conclusion that you're homosexual and it makes you really depressed. You may not be, and that's really not a good or a bad thing. Homosexuals are awesome, friendly, and generally happy individuals, why wouldn't you want that for yourself?
If you are homosexual, you can't just become straight by any means. However, coming to terms with it will come eventually and you can come to love yourself even more than you did when you were denying it. Best of luck to you, and I hope you soon discover who you really are.

The question you're really trying to ask is "does a gay person ever turn straight ?"
There has been cases of "gay" people becoming heterosexual. Experts believe that in such cases, the people were either bisexual or heterosexual to begin with (i.e. they weren't gay to begin with). Bisexuals do sometimes experience variability in their attractions.
What you need to do is tackle the reasons why you're feeling depressed. Its not a matter of "if I become straight then the depression will go away". You need to tackle WHY being attracted to the same sex is making you feel depressed - is it because of family, religion, society??

Your question is very disturbing... because it implies that there's something wrong with being gay... which their isn't... I was closeted for 30 years... afraid of even thinking about acknowledging my true nature... and after going so far as to get married ( and divorced ) .. I finally became honest with myself and the world... and I'm happier than I've ever been in my life... I have the love of my life... we've been together for two years.. and no one looks at us any different than anyone else.. it's heaven...my only regret is lying for so long...

If you are gay you can not change that. You can go back in the closet and try to live a straight life and be miserable. If you are a heterosexual you can not change it. You can try to be gay but you will be miserable. You can either be who you are or be someone and something else. It is your choice. You are born who you are.

Dude, sorry to say but being gay isn't something you choose to do. Therefore you can't choose not to be it. Some people ignore it but are never really happy. Good luck... I could definitely understand why someone would hope to shake that, not saying it is wrong, but kinda makes life hard.

Prayer will not solve the "problem", you just have to force it out of yourself, but be prepared for the consequences of bottling up a side of yourself, because it will come back to haunt you. You should honestly just learn to live with who you are because not being yourself is unnatural.

Sorry the best thing to do is to accept yourself and be happy with you. There are some specialists that work with gays to "straighten" them out, but it is a very long process and is rarely successful.
