I teach catchism for eith graders and lead a youth group in an inner city parrish. I consider myself christian first and foremost. being catholic is just my background and it doesn't matter to me where God puts me I just want to help bring goodness into this world. My youth group is completely open to anyone and is extremely non judgemental. I have had kids that are atheist, wiccan, trans gender, gay, catholic, protestant, agnotic. I field all sorts of off the wall questions about God and religion and simply answer them. I represent Christ to them, I will not judge them I love them and they know it. I have dealt with homelessness, drug abuse so many times it would make your head spin, hunger, them having abortions, sexual abuse. I have been called at two oclock in the morning to rescue a kid who took too many mushrooms and didn't know where they were at. I have also dealt with a pin head of a priest that is our new pastor, who I will no doubt outlast.
I'm telling you all this because you are on the first step of finding the truth and that is doubt. You must sincerely doubt your faith before you can find it. Until then its just a superstition that was forced upon you at birth. Read the Gospels and the letters before you decide anything. Then find someone who you admire who's a christian and acts like it. I would advice looking into the mainstream churches that are open minded but still faithful to what Christ is, the Methodists, the Lutherans or (if you can handle a little fundamentalism ) one of the community faith churches. I was in The Assembly of God for a while , wonderful loving people but I believe in evolution (why not, its God) so that might be a little too much. As for the Catholics this is a great religion if you don't need a lot of nurturing in your faith and of course Mass is boring unless you are involved (ie choir, eucharist minister etc.) you can email me if you have any questions at albertjoe2971@yahoo, I'll be glad to answer any questions you have. I am excited for you in your quest, good luck

I don't know what Kabbalah is, but if you believe that Jesus is the son of God, go to a Non Denominational church.

You could try liberation theology. That is what the Catholic priests in central america were into before the Vatican had them liquidated. Check out the writings of Fr. Matthew Fox.

Just talk to God, and educate yourself regarding aspects of God that you find appealing. Whether that means reading the Bible or books by other authors.
Eventually you will be able to walk into a church and immediately know if it is for you or not.

Why don't you give up on religion and try having a relationship with God and see what church might fit in.

"Churches" are all organized religions. Why do you need one at all. Just be spiritual and love life.

Atheism. There is no historical record of any supernatural occurance, EVER. Rely on your mind and the facts and you will be led toward the light of science.
